Hi! I have seen some topics about it, but they are all from 2013 and etc. How long does it take from an approval letter to get a card?

We were approved April 13th, received the notice that card was being produced on April 26th and received the notice that the card was mailed on April 28th.  Our April 2016 group is getting the cards about 3-5 days after the "Card was mailed" status change.  We are expecting our card anywhere from the 2nd to the 4th.  The cards are mailed from Corbin, Kentucky.

So...about three weeks after approval....

Hi Sukie,

From the date you submitted the application, did it take 3 weeks or did it take 3 weeks after you received  your approval? Did you send your application to the Vermont Service Center?

Anywhere from 1-3 weeks is typical. Mine took exactly two weeks from approval date to card in hand last year. I see more of an issue for people who go through interviews. Not sure what is the process for I-751 field office approvals after the interviews but I remember two cases that took 1.5-2 months to get their card despite the IO told them they were approved on the spot after the interview. Not sure but most likely either the IO did not update the system in a timely manner or the field office has to send the files back to the service center and after then the service center order the card production, which could take some time. Otherwise, I don't remember seeing any issues for people who were approved by the Service Centers.

My approval letter actually says I was approved by Hartford field office, which is in CT. I wonder why now. I did not have an interview or RFE

Could you check two things if you currently have the approval letter with you?

1) The lower right side of the letter should have a signature. What's the name and the title of that person?

2) If you haven't thrown the envelope the letter came with, could you check the zip code it was postmarked with?

I think the format of the letter creates the confusion that the field office sends the approval notice since they put the address of the local field office to the lower left side. On my approval letter, they put the address of the Boston field office (where I reside). However the letter was signed by Director of Vermont service center (Laura Zuchowski, not sure if she is the current director), and the postmark was from St. Albans, VT, where the VSC facility is.

You are right. Mine has VT postmark and is signed by Laura Zuchowski! Hartford filed center info is on the lower left. I am really curious about how does all of this processings work. Seems like a bureaucratic hell.
