After a beneficiary enters the US on a K-1 visa, is that beneficiary permitted to travel to another country (Mexico or Canada), either before or after the marriage to the USC? Does it perhaps depend on what country the beneficiary is a citizen of?

No.

K1 visa is a ONE entry visa.

If you leave USA without AP or Green card (acquired through the AoS process) you will NOT be allowed back to the USA.

Unless you apply for the spouse visa (if you get married - takes 1 year) or apply for another K1 visa (if you don't get married)....

K1

29.11.2013 - NoA1

06.02.2014 - NoA2

01.04.2014 - Interview.

AoS

03.2015 - AoS started.

09.2015 - Green Card received.

RoC

24.07.2017 - NoA1.

01.08.2018 - RoC approved.

hi

nope, the k1 is a one time entry application, once you marry and file for adjustment of status. she needs to receive her advance parole in order to travel abroad or she will have abandoned the process

Actually, what about Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands? Would my k-1 beneficiary be permitted to go there?

I am asking this because my mom is trying to plan a family reunion for next summer and really wants to go either on a cruise or somewhere tropical. If my sweetie isn't allowed to go to PR or the USVI, I guess I can suggest Hawaii. :)

Yes she would be, however........I wouldn't take a Caribbean cruise as you will be touching islands that are not part of the USA.   British virgin Islands to name one.  Which means your wife wouldn't be allowed back in, that is if they even let her on the cruise.  Hawaii is a much safer choice.  Tell Mom now so she knows what to plan for next summer. :)    Good luck!

Thanks, I will keep all of that in mind!
