Processing times

Hey, guys. 

 

my case is currently at the NBC in Missouri where they are doing/possibly completed initial reviews. Will the case be transferred to my local office (st Albans Vermont)? And when you check the processing times on the website is it from when I first filed or from when it is transferred? I'm just a little confused about how it goes on from here on.

this is a real mystery. we never received any communications telling us that the case was transfered ( come other VJs write about a notification of this transference) and we wait till we received an appointment letter for the interview. the whole process took almost 10 month

Did your status change to "ready to be scheduled for interview"? Cause at that time it leaves NBC to your local office.

Not yet. I received a letter yesterday saying that after an initial review I didn't send my medical and that I need to bring it when they schedule an interview, so I'm assuming it'll be ready for interview soon? From your experience, how long at the point of "ready to be scheduled for interview?" Would you say it takes until you actually have an appoint set?

Times are from when you first file. If you get the msg I mentioned it has been transferred to your local office.

Honestly I'm just very confused at this point at the timescale and what they do on their end

That depends totally on your local office waiting times,  but the VJ times are fairly accurate for this.

Oh ok, so I filed on October 14th 2016 (I believe) so this is the date I should check for when I look at the Vermont service center (this is where I assume it'll be transferred).

yes, this was first status in the I-485. and it only change to tell me that and appointment was scheduled and i have to wait for a letter with details to follow.

Where did the letter come from?  Missouri or your local office?

Yes, but also..you don't have a VJ timeline - can you pls fill one out it's helpful to ppl answering your questions and also data for the processing times. 

What visa are you adjusting from?

I will fill one out soon! I'm adjusting from the visa waiver program. I came visiting my girlfriend and I extended my stay from a month to two and then we decided we wanted to get married.

From the letter I would deduce that you will be transferred to the local office for interview yes. If you were from a visa category that are eligible for interview waiver - you could have also had the opportunity of not having an interview - but that letter does show you will have one or they would have requested the medical to be sent in.

And if Vermont is your local office then yes. Be advised that the USCIS are very bad at updating those processing times. It'll say "processing times as of xx/xx/xx" and that date is mostly months back. VJ will give you better estimates and prove quite accurate.
