One thing that seems to be lost in this thread is the fact that they are denying K-1 visas with a co-sponsor. You can always go through the marriage process in Viet Nam and do a K-3 or a IR/CR-1 with a co-sponsor. Good luck.

It is my understanding that the marriage in Viet Nam route is the way to go with a Co Sponsor. I don't have any concrete evidence unfortunately. You may want to start a new thread and see if anyone has used one.

Yes. You must be married here (Vietnam) and file both the I-130 and I-129. The CR1 is the logical way to go IMHO because there is no adjustment of status and the time difference is negligible. Your Wife would get a Green Card Stamp on arrival. You save at least $1000.

I wouldn't say that I am living the life, I am lucky to be with my wife but I'm quite home sick and can't wait to be back in America. I hired a lawyer and had him file my i-130 from the US and I just sent documents back and forth to him from Vietnam. The consulate here told me their office in Diamond Plaza right being Notre Dame cathedral does the i-130 paperwork from Vietnam so you could go that route if you plan to stay in Vietnam and file. I do meet the income requirement and do not require a co-sponsor. I work here in Vietnam but get paid in the US via Direct deposit in my bank account and If I needed money I can withdraw easily from ATM machines.

I work in Upper management for a manufacturing company that has a base in the US. I worked with them for 5 years now so I have pull in where ever I choose to work. My company is actually downsizing right now so they aren't hiring anymore people since we mainly export to US and the economy in the US is in recession right now. There are lots of Vietnamese companies hiring expats simply because their english is good. You just got to post your resume on Vietnamworks.com and you should be able to find a job in the industrial areas.
