Just got my interview notice for March 29th. My notice date is November 12th 2021. Pretty surprised it only took about 4 months. I received my 10-year green card last year after my I-751 was approved.

Two questions:

1. I'm applying on the basis of marriage, but my spouse DOES NOT have to accompany me to the interview, correct?

2. Do I have to print out all the evidence of the bona-fide marriage (leases, bank statements, etc) to bring with me to the interview since I've uploaded copies of these to my online application?

Thank you!

Yes, bring your joint Tax Transcripts for at least the last 3 years, bring current joint bills, copy of current lease, copy of spouse's ID with common current address. Just be prepared to show you have been together with your spouse since the i751 was approved so not too much.

Bring a copy and the original spouse birth certificate or naturalization document  and marriage certificate, sometimes USCIS wants to so the originals doc at the naturalization interview.

Great, thank you @da95826! That's super helpful.

Hi all,

My wife and I submitted our N-400 forms on the 5 year basis (applied at 4 years, 9 months) in early August 2021 and are still waiting for an interview notice. We got our biometrics reuse notice instantaneously when the application was submitted. Since then the status says "actively reviewing". Anyone else waiting here that applied in the July/August timeframe?

Also, we are moving addresses in April and I went to my online profile and it says, I can't edit the address during this part of the adjudication? Not sure if that message has always been there or a recent addition. Should I just submit the AR-11 form online once the address is changed?

Many thanks!

Yes, I would say it’s best to file AR-11 for your address change.  Also, I would get USPS’s mail forwarding.  Even though they say the won’t forward government mail, they sometimes do anyway.  Besides, for N400, your interview letter usually gets posted in your online portal upon status change as well.

As for the timeframe, it took ten months for me to get my interview with this office, and official processing times are 11.5-17.5 months.  I’m having my fingers crossed for you guys that your interviews will be scheduled soon.  Best of luck!

I had my N400 interview at the Fairfax office a few days ago and I just got a notice saying that my oath ceremony is scheduled at the same office in a couple weeks. Does anyone know if they're allowing any family members/friends to attend the ceremony or is that still not allowed?

Hi, May I know that, when was the interview and how was the interview experience? How long it took after interview? I’ve my on 04/23 fairfax office and I need to move to a different state and just waiting for this process to be finished so that I don’t have to go through a address change since the interview already scheduled

Unfortunately, I don’t know what the situation is right now, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they still didn’t allow anyone in; just because it would allow them to move people in and out faster… I hope the best for you as I know what it’s like when your loved ones have to wait outside.

Congrats on becoming a citizen!

My interview was on March 29th. It was very straightforward. Other than the civics test, the interviewer basically asked some of the questions from the N400 form, so just make sure you remember what you answered. Took about 15-20 minutes.

Thank you for your reply! civics test was 2008 right? I read that you already heard about the oath ceremony. it took only few days after the interview, which is nice... congratulations

My wife and I got our interview notices this morning. Applied 8/3/21 in DC. Interview is May 14th early morning. Interesting it’s on a Saturday. Regardless, thankful that the notice is here. Now to prepare for it!

Quick update:

We had our interviews last Saturday and were one of the first interviews of the day. My wife and I were interviewed separately (5-year rule). Both of us were done and approved in 15 mins.

The officer that interviewed me was super nice. After swearing me in, the civics and English tests were done. Then she updated the N-400 form (new address, significant travel since filing) and said I was approved. She sent a message to the officer that was interviewing my wife to see if she had also passed (I found that interesting, possibly also cross verified the new data and/or our answers).

The status instantaneously changed to

“Oath will be scheduled”. Now patiently waiting for the oath date!

good luck to all!
