Wow, somebody I know who applied in March 2022 just got their citizenship in the DC field office!  While I’m happy for them, it also stings a little because I know there are others who have been waiting longer (myself included).  Oh well.  I hope it’ll be our time soon as well.

Back to the future! Does he drive a DeLorean?

Anyway, I applied in October 2020 and got my interview scheduled for August, so I’m nervous :)

Hey @bokins, have you had your interview yet?  I hope you are done and it went well!  If you have a minute, would you mind sharing your experience?

Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for mine to be scheduled, but I don’t expect it before October or even later anyway as my application date is 12/29/2020 (under INA 319(a), three year rule).  Like many others, though, both my wife and I can’t wait until we’re finally done with USCIS.

Hey, so yes, had my interview on Aug 3 and the Oath ceremony on Aug 6, so I am officially a citizen! :D

The interview was pretty good, the usual civics questions and then reviewed the whole application with me.

The only thing that took a lot of time was reviewing all my traffic tickets lol, I drive too fast, but the thing that concerned the officer the most was that all the fines were paid and nothing was owed to any government agency. He wanted proof of any ticked I had ever received, and it took a while lol.

Then I got scheduled right there for a ceremony on the 6th, where nobody is allowed to come with you. Also, you have to wear a mask in the USCIS building no matter your vaccination status, so don't forget it!

I was outside normal processing times for my EAD way back when, and when my requests weren’t fruitful, I reached out to my representative in Congress, whose office then filed an official inquiry.  My EAD was approved a couple of days after that.  I would look up who your representative is (or reach out to one of the two senators; Tim Kaine or Mark Warner provided you live in VA).  I hope that helps!

Thank you so much! I reached out to both my congressman and Senator Kaine last week, and still waiting for their actions... fingers crossed

I got my N-400 interview scheduled for Dec 21st in Fairfax (I filed in April 2021), but am also still waiting for the I-751… I wish they did both at the same time!

Congratulations!  Even if the letter doesn’t say so, chances are that your interview is a combo interview.  In my case, my RoC got approved in August, but USCIS didn’t update their systems, so the Fairfax office specifically asked me if it was just the N-400 we were doing.  When I confirmed and gave them my 10 year green card, they had to update the system first in order to reflect the approval and to move forward with the N-400 interview.  Thus, I would just be prepared to do a combo interview (bring your spouse), and if they don’t mention it, just ask if that’s what they intended to do.
