I attended my interview this morning and the whole process was smooth and efficient. I got there a bit early and as the letter stated you can only go in 15 minutes before you interview so I waited in my car until then. There were around 10 people in the waiting room and the chairs were all social distanced. The officer interviewed me was very nice and professional. I brought all the document I could think of with me and was requested to present my Green Card. It started with English test, then the Civic questions and then the Yes and No questions. At the end of the interview, the officer told me they had a ceremony tomorrow and asked if I could attend. I responded yes and he went to print out the ceremony letter for me. Couldn't be happier that my Oath got scheduled so quickly.

Good luck, everyone!!

I'm very happy for you but this is completely infuriating for us who have been waiting since March for the ceremony. Does anyone know how to get in touch with the actual Fairfax office? The USCIS number has been completely unhelpful and I'm afraid that something is seriously messed up with our case.

Thanks so much! We got in touch with Congresswoman Wexton's office in Sterling and they said they would reach out to USCIS for us. Praying we get clarity soon... it's been so tiring and stressful.

Hey DC filers. I had my N400/I751 combo interview yesterday at the DC office. The interview letter made no mention of my I751 but the officer asked to speak to my spouse for the i751, luckily my spouse came with me and was waiting outside and was asked to come in. Nothing unexpected in the interview really, friendly officer and interview. I didn't get an immediate approval since the officer needed to do extra processing due to the pending I751 but 20min after the interview I got the approval email.

Then, this morning I got an email that my naturalization ceremony was scheduled. Hopefully it's before Nov 3 and I can vote! Any idea how long until the letter will show up online?

If your congresswoman can't sort it out you could also try submitting a query to the ombudsman if you haven't already https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance. hope you get scheduled soon

Congratulations!! Keep in mind that if you live in Virginia then the last day to register to vote is October 13, I hope you'll get your Oath ceremony date soon.

Thanks! Funnily enough I just received a phone call from USCIS to tell me my oath ceremony date since it's fairly soon they didn't want me to miss it if the mail is delayed. October 8th! Since I live in DC it's at the courthouse here. (Also DC allows same-day voting registration until election day so I had a little extra time than if I was in VA). Excited :D

Awwww thank you so much @Pete20155 and you as well. My  youngest (who's now 9 months) was really crying yesterday and glad I was able to put him to sleep and down on bed before heading my way out for my interview. Again, good luck on your interview today. 🥰 I am having a feeling that we might took an oath together. Keep us posted. 🥰

My Interview Experiance-Disappointing

Reached there 15 mins prior to my interview time which was at 11.10am. Got  checked in and was made to sit in a big hall full of other applicants waiting for their turns.

I had to wait for almost 1hr10 mins and it was already lunch time ...almost all the people were done with their interviews and I was all alone in the hall at this point ..still waiting for my turn.

Finally around 12.05 pm I was called. The officer asked for my Green card and passport. He then proceeded to ask me civic test questions :

1. What was the war between north and south called?

2. What is the Supreme law of the land?

3. Which is the highest court in USA?

4. Name one war fought by America in 1900s ?

5  Who did USA fight in the world War II?

6. Who was the first president?

Then went over the reading and writing test.

Reading: how many total senators in usa ?

Writing: there are one hundered senators in the USA.

Then he went over the 'yes' and 'no' questions from the form. After that the officer started asking questions about way back 10 years ago when I first entered usa as a student. He asked for my visa copy for my F1 visa..he made a copy and kept it in his file. He asked my dates of when I first started going to school and when I finished school and when I was working for one of the employers 8 years ago. Etc

Something made me feel this was not going as expected, he then made me review and sign these questions and answers I provided. Later I was told I have passed my  test however the cannot make a decision at this time and he is referring my case to his supervisor and that it must expect to hear from them with regards to the decision after 2 months time frame.

Not sure what triggered him asking questions which were not even on the form.sually on the naturalization application form they only ask information from the past 7 years.

Can anyone here  tell me if they had similar experience and  decision was also put on hold for 2 months ? What was the outcome ? I am a bit worried now.😢😢

Yesterday, I took an Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America. It was a mixed of emotions since I am happy that after migrating here for five years, eight months and five days, I am finally done with the immigration process and at the same time, it was with a heavy heart to renounce my citizenship to my Mother Land. I will always love my country of birth and origin no matter what, and will always continue and raise my children with the Filipino values and morals that were taught and passed down to me by my parents, but I also love to live and fulfill my American dream in God's time.

The ceremony could've been better with my family around, but due to the present pandemic, I had to attend and took an oath all by myself. But on the lighter note, I am finally done and I am so over the moon. To God be the Glory!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thank you all for sharing your inputs, your own experiences and for your positivity. I wish everyone the best. 🥰
