They finally approved my application, exactly after two months of my interview date. I honestly gave up and getting my self ready for  long haul. I don't know why they took so long to provide the approval, but it is matter of luck. But , i am glad it is over. Now, i will need to wait for Oath letter.

My oath ceremony is scheduled for this Friday. I am almost there.

Interview was scheduled for Friday, April 3rd, but is now canceled.  Notice said it would be rescheduled, but had no indication of the timeframe.

Hi. How are you? Did you hear anything about rescheduling your interview?

My in-laws became Citizens last week in Fairfax Office, it was a very brief ceremony of 30 people wearing masks.

They where told they are doing 13 ceremonies a day at that office to clear the backlog it was about 15 minutes in total.

Nobody allowed in except those becoming Citizens, so things are moving.

Thank you for the update! I hope they can start doing same day oath ceremony soon.

I just received my interview date in August and I am wondering if the furlough may actually affect this all. As I need to fly in and go through the 14 day quarantine period, I am really worried about going through a cancellation a few days prior with me sitting in the hotel room and waiting for the interview to take place. Has anyone heard more about which offices or which services are affected - or is everything affected across the board?

Congrats. Is this a rescheduled or new interview? What’s the date of your interview? I think the furlough will affect all field offices across the country. Let’s hope they will get the necessary funding from congress before August 3.

Congrats. Is your local office Washington DC or San Diego?

Finally they scheduled my oath ceremony but cancelled the same day. Has this happened to anyone here?

So they rescheduled my oath again and I had my oath last week. So after one and half year since my application and one year since the interview, I finally got my Citizenship Certificate. Neither RFE nor I751 or any criminal conviction, I dont know why my case took it that long but nevertheless I am happy when this process came to an end with a happy ending.

Oath Ceremony was very quick. There were seats for 20 people, all kept apart 6ft. Everyone was required to wear mask. Since they did not have enough people we had to wait for around 20/30 minutes for them to start. At the end there were may be 15 people taking oath. Actual ceremony was less than 10 minutes.

Good Luck .
