Well I did a service request today and also asked my congressman for help. Hopefully this will nudge them. If nothing happens in few weeks,  as you suggested, I will write a letter to the officer. By the way do you have any sample letter I can use. Thanks

Congressional follow-up is good, maybe premature; I would've left that for when the 120 days allowed by law are up.

I still strongly suggest you send the letter for 2 main reasons. First, you want to reach the immigration officer who's reviewing your case, not administrative staff who may screen out the service requests,  who can simply say (and rightly so) that your case is still within allowed processing time. And second, you want to leave a paper trail showing that you've exhausted your administrative options in the event you have to sue (hopefully it doesn't get to that).

Don't be nervous about writing to USCIS. In my experience, people under-communicate, fearing retribution, and it hurts their case. While my case is slightly different than yours, I sent a letter immediately after 90 days were up, and I got a call about 3 weeks later with a definitive resolution to my case.

Dear Officer HurryUp (Or: Dear Immigration Services Officer):

Requesting Update on N-400 Application (Your Name, Receipt # XXXX, A-#YYYY, USCIS # ZZZ)

I write to request an update on my naturalization application, as it has now been XX days since my initial naturalization examination.

You may recall that, at your invitation, I attended the examination at the USCIS Washington DC Field Office on XXX, 2019. Before that, on XXX, 2019, I filed the N-400 online, uploaded evidence of eligibility, and paid the required fees. On XXXX, 2019, I appeared at the Application Support Center in Alexandria, VA, for biometric capture. On XXX 2019, I received an invitation for the initial naturalization examination, which I attended as described.

At the end of the interview, you (or: the adjudicating officer) informed me that I passed the naturalization tests but that a decision could not be made. No request for additional evidence was made then, or in the time since my interview.

It has now gone past XX days since the interview, and I would be grateful if you could provide an update on my application, or let me know if you need any additional evidence of eligibility to assist you render a timely decision.

For your review, please see attached:

• Invitation to appear for N-400 interview, dated XXX
•  N-652 Naturalization Interview Results

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Respectfully,

bxb9

Got an update this morning that my interview was scheduled. This was from the case tracker app. checked it up and it said "your interview is schedule and check the mail for the notice". I checked the new site to see if the notice had uploaded but nothing. I will wait and see.

I just had my interview. I was scheduled for 11:20am and arrived at the building around 1030am. Security was a breeze to get through. Took the elevator to the second floor and I presented my appointment notice to the front desk. The front desk receptionist told me the system would not let her check me in since I was there at 1040 and my appointment was not until 1120 (system only allows check in within the 30 minute window prior to scheduled appointment).

She had me sit and wait in the lobby. As soon as 1050am came around I went back to her and she scanned my appointment notice and told me to wait until my name was called. I was a little nervous, just because it was the big day. You are able to use your cellphone and they have two tvs running there as well. The waiting area looked kind of busy with several people waiting. 1120 came around and nothing yet. It wasn't until around 1130 that an officer called my name.

He took me to the back to his office and told me to put all my things down and raise my right had and asked to repeat after him, "swear that the statements I'm about to give are truthful..." Soon after he sat down and was poking through his computer. He asked me what my full name was, where I was born, where I worked. Then he took my picture and fingerprints.

Then he asked my for my passport, DL, and LPR card, but I also handed him my Social Security card. He said he was gonna review my travels outside the country and I handed him a piece a paper with additional information about travels I had done since submitting my application. He entered the information into the computer.

He then went over some of the questions on my application, I don't think he went through all of them. Then he dictated a sentence that I had to write on an iPad. Then we went through the civics and history:

1) What does the constitution do

2) How many amendments does the constitution have

3) Name one branch of the government

4)Name a state that borders Mexico

5) What's the president's political party

6) Who is the president

Then he had me review information on the iPad and verify that name, DOB, etc were correct. Finally, he handed me a sheet that said I had passed the civics exam, but they could not make a decision on my application at the time. He said I should receive something in the mail within 60 days.

By the time I exited the building it was noon. It took a little under 30 mins for the whole thing. I'll provide an update once I receive a notice in the mail.

Best of luck to you all!

Thanks for detailed description! Really helpful. Did you carry any other documents with you? I hope your wait is not long this time and get approval soon!

I took copies of my returns (previous five years) and my selective service card, but the IO didn't ask to see any of that. Thank you, I hope to have good news soon!
