We applied (N400) on January, 6, 2019.  Our interview at the Prosperity Avenue office in Fairfax is on 15 June; so, a five month wait for us.  Hope you get a speedy interview!  Good Luck!

How was your interview going?

I just finished mine today and they gave me a paper said the decision can't be made. And told me that I will receive a letter by mail.

SORRY to hear that you didn't get a decision.  Our interview went very fast, 22 min, in and out with approval.

We would appreciate any advice on Postponing our Oath Ceremony, please.

Wife breezed through her interview on 15 June, at the Fairfax, VA Washington Field office.

Today, we received the N-445, Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony (Alexandria, VA).  We are really shocked that the oath ceremony is set for 9 July, just a few weeks following the interview. The only issue is that my wife and children are on vacation in the Dominican Republic.

What do you think?  Cut her vacation short and fly back to take the oath as scheduled?

Or, send in an explanation that she is on vacation, requesting a ceremony oath on later date?

I'm wondering if the immigration officer receiving our explanation may erroneously think that the oath is not important to us.  Or, if we may not get a new oath ceremony appointment for months.

Had my interview today. Decision cannot be made. I was told I’d receive a letter in 1 to 3 months that would either be a RFE or a congratulations letter.

Interview lasted 45+ minutes. There was a second IO present in the room who did not speak much but who walked me out. Anyone had a similar experience?

Hello,

I hope you doing well and you got your approval already. I had a closer situations. The officer told me you wilt a letter by mail for RFE which is N-14. but I didn't get anything for 2 weeks, and the online still showing interview notice.

My status changed on 05/22 (two weeks after the interview) to approved and oath ceremony will be scheduled. However, I have yet to receive an approval letter or an oath notice online or via mail.

I hope you receive your RFE soon! Best of luck. The waiting game is stressful.

Hi everyone! Had my interview in Fairfax office on July 13th! It was very quick and the officer was very professional yet friendly. Took 27 minutes from walking into the building to walking out of it.

Since I requested a name change, my oath ceremony will be in Alexandria court. They only have oath ceremonies once a month (every 3d Thursday). The officer said it will take 5-6 weeks to get my oath scheduled. Does anyone have any experience with this? I know most people here waited for a very long time.

Congratulations!

Not yet. It’ll be 8 weeks tomorrow since I got approved. Estimated wait time online is 27 days.

Thanks. Wow -- 8 weeks! Have you tried to follow up? At worst, you should've been scheduled for last Tuesday, based on the DC court schedule.

Just got a notification (on egov) that my oath ceremony notice was mailed! No status change on MyUSCIS account yet, but I expect it to update in the afternoon.

Curious to know if I made it to August (13 or 16) oaths or not. From what I have seen on trackers an oath letter is usually mailed at least 5 weeks before the oath date so looks like it might be September.
