Super great news and congratulations  Bambi!

Enjoy  your weekend (and the snow)  as a newly  minted citizen.

Not far behind you. January 26th  in fairfax  VA.

Thank you! Good luck in your ceremony! You are almost there!

The snow is coming down now.

If you live in Dc, yes. You can check the united states court for the district of columbia and it will give you the 2019 calendar.

However, if you live in northern  Virginia,  the fairfax office on prosperity avenue decides where and when i,e . High school, historic building etc..

If however, there is a name change, the oath is hel every third thursday of the month at the eastern division court house in alexandria.

Where you had your interview, will define your oath, DC or VA

Hi, how do you know if there is a name change, the oath is held every third Thursday of the month?

i requested for a name change to have the same last name as my husband (i know it would delay the process a little bit but didn't expect this long, ughhhhh)!!!!

Just quick update since everyoen has been so helpful. I did my oath ceremony in DC court this Tuesday (Jan 8). One of the main speaker was my immigration attorney's collegue (i thought it was funny). She is AILA Chair for DC chapter.

Spent a lot of time to check-in all 122 naturalized candidates and then there was a roll-call (we were each called by name and our country prior to taking the oath)

I applied for my passport yesterday and picked it up this morning. Great to be an American!

Congratulations Bambi!!! What a wait!

Can you share how you can get your passport in just 1 day? i thought i usually takes about 4-6 weeks. thanks!

My interview is scheduled in Fairfax for the 11th of Feb. I filled online in July i think.

That’s great news for July filers!!! I’m March filer & no Oath letter.

@smartgreen if you have travel plans and your ticket is booked. You can request state dept to issue you passport in 1 or 2 days. Your profile say you live in DC?

You can edit your profile by amending  the city and state.

For next day passport, you will need a confirmed reservation in order  to get one. Dont know the exact cost as i am not there yet and not planning to go that route  as i may not leave until mid march due to a scheduled surgery.

If planning  any travel, wait until you receive your oath letter to do so. There is about one month window between notification and ceremony. Plenty of time to do so, albeit, weather.

@DESERT_ROSE Ah got it. Just changed my location. thanks you!

Does anyone know when the USCIS website releases new appointments time slot for info pass? I tried to find a spot at 12am, 1am, 2am (assuming they usually release new spot after midnight) but no luck. I also use the auto refresh function to monitor the status during the day, still no luck. I hope they didn't block the appointments due to the government budget.

That's  to anyone guess!

I would suggest, did work for me for I-551 stamp, have your Gc in hand at all times, or at leat your A number on a piece  of paper and just click on the website at various 10 15 minutes intervals   ( Painful but no way around it) midnight  hours  don't  work at times.

Try and you will get an open spot.

Word of caution. If you do not have  your A nbr right there and choose to fiddle with your wallet to find it, kiss your luck goodbye.. Slots disappear  in a nanosecond.

Try every 5 minutes just at 6.00 AM

I got one last Friday just after midnight. It was two weeks in advance, but I need to travel at short notice, so I walked into Prosperity Ave with that appointment and they let me in after some initial resistance (I only came with my flight itinerary but had to go back to retrieve proof for my rationale for emergency travel).

You just need to show international travel itenary in order to get your passport quicker. I went on Thursday Afternoon, and my itenary showed I have a fight at noon on Friday. So they asked me to wait for my passport same day. Expidited passport is $60 more.

I paid $235 to get both Passport book and Passport Card which was sent by mail and I already received it

Did anyone apply for N-400 while I-751 still pending?

I did. Officer conducted my N-400 interview and went through I-751 application quickly (divorce waiver).

He then asked for time to review my file which was like 3 big binders. I got my approval about 4 months later for both.
