Hello all...my lawyer submitted the DS-260 form online and uploaded the required documents in January 4, 2017 for my husband's case... we did not received or hear from the NVC after that was done, so today I decided to call them.

A really nice lady informed me that the packet was incomplete since they needed my husband's police record from Honduras (he lives here in the US with me) and that they need it to review his case...my question is has anyone submitted this documents and did you submit the police record at the same time from your home country? I am just so confuse now since our lawyer told us we will get it before the interview and next month it will be 5 months and he's case has not been review yet.

thank you for any information.

if he is currently in the us living with you why are you doing a ds-260? he only needs to do the i130 and i485 and there is no police report needed for them. yes it is a nice loop hole.

Yes you have to have it for the NVC it's on the checklist. I would be upset with your lawyer . They should know what all is needed. Everything that is required has to be sent in all at the same time or the case will not be reviewed. Unfortunately when you do send the certificate in it is going to restart your review time.

Good luck!

I think this depends on a couple of things. One is if they entered without documentation they may not be eligible to just "adjust status".

Also the certificate is not difficult to obtain from honduras. We got it in about 3 days!
