Finding job on H4 visa EAD

Hi all, I am waiting for my EAD after a looong wait! I am an engineering graduate from a foreign university, but have no job experience in the USA. I am ready for entry-level positions and hopefully will move in to my dream job in Aviation later. 

Can you all share your experience of job search in USA with no experience in hand? Can I volunteer for office assistant/ clerk/ Teller in banks or retail shops till I get my EAD? If yes, please suggest the areas where I can do Volunteering. Any advice would be of great help, Thanks in advance! :-)

No, sorry. You cannot volunteer, you can't do anything that would be a paid position for anyone else. You can't work until you get that EAD.

You cannot perform any work prior to getting the EAD. This includes unpaid work. Volunteering in a position that would normally be filled by a worker would likely be considered work for immigration purposes. While I understand the intent is to get some experience or a foot in the door, even working unpaid usually means you are displacing a US worker. Volunteer positions that you can do would need to be something that doesn't displace a US worker. For instance, working in a soup kitchen cannot displace a US worker.

 

I'm also doubtful that a retail store or bank would have a volunteer/unpaid teller position.
