Scheduling the medical and interview in JA does not take long - they have available dates and times every day so that won't be your issue.

The issue is waiting to get your case# from NVC which can possibly be why your attorney said March because NVC is backlogged. Although, I don't think you will have to wait until then. Probably early Feb.

I think early Feb also. I signed up for US DOS to see the next available interview date at the embassy in Ja and its like 3-4 days away. As @Trinab80 said, the wait will be at NVC. I called USCIS today and the tier 1 officer told me he can't transfer me to a tier 2 officer because "I'm within normal processing time". Although he did put in a service request for me, gave me a referral code and told me they have 30 days to reply to my inquiry. 195 days and counting.......

thank you for the bday wishes.

it's very hard to stay positive when the uncle who was supposed to walk me down the aisle was diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 cancer, and now very likely won't live to see our wedding. it's hard when my grandma and papa both got diagnosed with dementia and are in assisted living, and probably won't even remember my wedding. every day their memories decline, and there's less and less chance they'll even be able to leave the assisted living long enough to attend any kind of ceremony. it sucks. I don't have parents in my life. my fiancé and my grandparents and my aunt and uncle are all I have, and they're all being taken away or kept away from me.

my relationship is fortunately very strong, and I/we will make it through this, but not without major emotional damage. my patience has run out.

if anyone knows how I can contact my congressman to look into this, I would appreciate any info.

Look here:

www.house.gov/representatives/find/

then call their local office. It's part of their job to help you with federal agencies. They have people in their offices who do just that.  You're paying their salary so let them work for you the way they should.

If i believe right at the NVC stage they do additional security checks further down then what USCIS does. Sorry to hear it is being sent back.

It was raining approvals for June...I guess this is how it's going to be from now on  Even though there are many people waiting.

Have you called NVC to find out why?

@Murph4865 said, NVC does additional security/background checks. By any chance, do you and/or the beneficiary have anything for them to flag you two?

You may want to post this as a question in the general forum so you can get other VJ members with more experience to help provide some feedback about this.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Good luck to you both!!

I'm just so confused .

Im an Australian with no criminal ties, history, same job for 18 years. Just a normal Aussie girl !

we are devastated !

we have our wedding booked for March 31st , 11 of my family members have already paid to come over for this..

I know it can take months now to hear anything back !

I can't  stop shaking , I feel so helpless now.

I've called NVC , they won't tell me anything and say we have to call USCIS and they are not taking any calls , no transfers as they are too busy ..

I have no criminal past, I got my police check done 2 months ago , my fiancé hasn't got any criminal history either .

Ill post on general forum , thankyou , and fingers crossed you hear something soon 🙏 This whole process is so heartbreaking for a lot of us .

Yeah, they received RFE response more than 2 weeks ago and they've approved many cases with RFE response received past the 20th of November (ours was rcvd on the 15th). Not only that but they asked for things we'd already provided with our petition.  I don't even know how to feel about this anymore, I'm mostly annoyed because there's not much to be done. Trust me, if it were all up to me, we would all have been approved. :D

What sort of things are they asking for ?  These RFEs make me nervous.
