I think you need 戸籍謄本 instead in your case. (As your birth certificate)

for the taxes though if you leave your job early you can just register as under the income levels and not pay the future taxes they will count after the year.

because you will move and the registration period itself is in April, they would only send monthly or even not send anything.

The only thing I would worry is if you ask for a  転居届け (actually 転出 because you're leaving the country) would it cause a problem about your residence? But you're Japanese so it think that's also ok.

try to get the interview as early as you can!

I cant even believe you're still here!!!

Yes, your right I do have 戸籍謄本 and it's English translation.

And for the tax Japan's 住民税 payment perm for Nov 2017 -May 2018, the company I worked for already paid behalf of me. I need some income tax settlement (確定申告) end of this year but that is easy. So next Dec Jun 2018 - Oct 2018 will be asked to pay if I have 住民票 on Jan 1st 2018 so I'd prefer to pull out.

Good point on 転居届 (moving and leaving to US) is exactly the point I am worrying about - I'll find some local lawyer for this question. Our immigration lawyer is US person so she doesn't know exaclty on Japan's case.

If I check and noticed the information will share you and all in VC.

Thanks in advance!

About 転居: you can apply for it way before with a estimated date (予定日) they accept it.

Because im a foreigner I'm going to ask for all my work pension money back and they told me I can just do this with an estimated leave date (which is also same for Japanese nationals) before I am leaving . You can do it 2 weeks before you leave and sometimes even earlier. It is also ok to leave whenever as it is just an estimation.

Hi @Naes. Thanks for your additional info.

I confirmed to a Japanese lawyer over the online service but resident certification (住民票)is not needed for DS-160 or documents to submit to American Embassy in Tokyo. And if I'm asked where I'm at now at the embassy's interview date in Jan/Feb I will answer clearly that I'm at my parents' place and the lawyer said as long as that is the truth that answer should be okay.

Hi @Naes - Here is additional information from the Japanese lawyer. Yellow light here.

For my case, when I submit 住民票異動届, there is a column to  write where do you live next and  if I specify USA to my US fiancée or anywhere outside Japan,  I might be asked why are you specifying US address BEFORE I get K-1 visa at interview timing...and not just that timing I might get asked when I do other visa process in US to get green card, they will ask me the same question which makes hard for me to answer.

#I guess your case to write where you move on 住民異動届 isn't US fiance's place correct? If so I guess that is fine.

I will copy the specific comments from the  lawyer in Japanese as reference below:

JP Lawyer's comment (弁護士のコメント):

My Comment (私のコメント):

JP Laywer's comment (弁護士のコメント):

”はい、お見込みのとおりです。なお、海外転出の場合の異動届には、転出先住所には、国名のみを記載し、新しい住所の世帯主は記入しません。(世帯主はあくまでも日本の住民票制度上の概念だからです。)

@AK&JO

I think moving it to your family's place is a better option for you then.

Check with the taxes, you should be able to either cancel it by the day you leave, or they may repay you.

Ahhh...my family's place is in same ward in Tokyo so I need to pay 住民税 anyway if I stay on Jan 1st 2018...It's by the law in Japan you have to pay resident tax if you are living on "Jan 1st" on that year. I really don't like this rule but better than I cannot make to US to be with my fiance or have any trouble later by deleting my record from the ward that I live in Tokyo, Japan.

Evening/Morning to all,
I need to vent a sec then get some sound advice and/or suggestions. :jest:
I feel I am a very patient person and so is my fiancé. We both are Christians and I have faith that things will work in our favor. BUT, it's been over 190+ days since I filed our I-129F K1 petition. I wasn't worried now we both are getting concerned. I even tried using the tracking app but it just made me more concerned because most of the I129F for May 22, 2017 are completed and there are tons of I130 for the same date. I don't know if was reading it wrong but what I did was try to analyze by the last 4 numbers of our receipt and look for May 22 and May 24th dates.
I did review all but was just trying to get and idea of where USCIS is at as far as the cases.
I front loaded and sent the Affidavit of Support. I called the end if last month and spoke to a rep but they just read the same thing I saw online at that time they were still in April. The rep said next month which would've been November.
I tried doing an inquiry a few days ago online and then on Dec 1st. They system did not process the inquiry and I got a message saying our application is within the current processing time.
I'm traveling abroad this week so I'd like to have some good news to share with my fiancé.
Is anyone else having a similar issue? I'm I missing something? Any idea?
