Dear All... after a terrible situation, my grandmother's passed away.. I was able to go to Ecuador and obtained documents to proof me and my fiance are single and legally able to marry. I send the RFE response yesterday and just got the update of the RFE being received. Do you know an average time for getting a decision after and RFE? Please let me know your comments! Thanks!!

So sorry for your loss.

Usually within 3days up to 3 weeks after they receive, so average on 10 days. We have an RFE list under shoegums signature check that, some people filled it.

I'm at 190 and realized that my lawyer is useless. If it wasn't for this group I would be lost. He doesn't tell me anything except wait 2 more weeks. I would never recommend him to anyone! The money I wasted with him I could of brought a few plane tickets to see my fiancée. I completed all the paperwork myself and ran around to get the necessary documents. All he did was mail it to USCIS and collect my money. I know he can't do anything to speed up the process but I would feel better if he actually did some work for his fee like keep me updated on what I should be doing to prepare for the next step or at least attempting to call USCIS even if they told him the same thing they tell us(normal processing time). I've never spoken to him 1 time as he only communicates through email. Now he's taking 1-2 weeks to even answer my emails and all he writes back is "wait 2 more weeks". Ok my vent is over lol congrats to those who got approved! Gives me a little hope as each day without an approval chips away at me.

Sounds exactly like our lawyer!

thank you! U also have a lawyer that does absolutely nothing but cash checks?

Same with us. And actually, our lawyer made it worse. Our case was rejected the first time because she sent the wrong fee. Cost us 5 weeks.

I think your process may be similar to mine after you get your case number. I looked it up and this is the website for Senegal: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-sn/iv. You need to register for the website, once the embassy receives your case it will allow you to go further in the process. In my case, my fiance was able to pay the visa fee, once this was confirmed on the website I was able to schedule the interview online. I cannot say this is exactly how it will work for you, but it is worth a shot. I was told to wait for the embassy to contact me as well, good thing I didn't because the embassy received my fiance's case on October 26th, his interview is on December 5th, and I still haven't heard anything from the embassy! Hopefully this will work for you or this will at least be a bit helpful! Maybe you could also look on here for other couples who have gone through this embassy? I don't know how many there are though! Good Luck!!!

I think i revistered but when i did it said nonimmigrant. And when i went to sign up it didnt give me the option of a k1 visa. Should i be registering for immigrant visa. I thought the k1 is considered nonimmigrant.?

Some embassies consider it immigrant, because at that point your intentions are clearer, even though you are not directly applying for a Green Card.

Chose immigrant if you don't see it in non-immigrant and it will show you K1 :)

DS-160 is for the beneficiary. normally he/she should be the one filling this, so her/his information should be used.

It's your fiances turn now :D

Okay so we made an account but are we supposed to book the interview through there and pay the Visa fees do that website as well? I'm so confused and I don't want to be stuck waiting again!!!

Did you read the guides of what to do after noa2?

so you have your NVC number etc right? Did the files already arrived at the embassy?

@Courtney Payne

After you pass the NVC (sorry I'm not sure at which part you are yet.)

book medical because it takes takes time to get medical results then accordingly you can pay and book the interview through that web site.

does this help?

but first calm :) because when we hurry too much we make mistakes. Silly mistakes especially.

edit: cause overall @AnaMolina is right. Check how your embassy does it first.
