Thank you.  I promise to be smarter (and more positive) going forward.

I'm sure you didn't have any negative intentions when your posted the link. That's all that matters as far as I am concerned. Thank you for clarifying though. It is definitely much appreciated.

I also noticed you are from Elmhurst IL.  I live in a neighboring suburb. I wish you the best of luck  neighbor!

I'm at 190 and realized that my lawyer is useless. If it wasn't for this group I would be lost. He doesn't tell me anything except wait 2 more weeks. I would never recommend him to anyone! The money I wasted with him I could of brought a few plane tickets to see my fiancée. I completed all the paperwork myself and ran around to get the necessary documents. All he did was mail it to USCIS and collect my money. I know he can't do anything to speed up the process but I would feel better if he actually did some work for his fee like keep me updated on what I should be doing to prepare for the next step or at least attempting to call USCIS even if they told him the same thing they tell us(normal processing time). I've never spoken to him 1 time as he only communicates through email. Now he's taking 1-2 weeks to even answer my emails and all he writes back is "wait 2 more weeks". Ok my vent is over lol congrats to those who got approved! Gives me a little hope as each day without an approval chips away at me.

Hi guys one again.

After uncountable hours trying to figure out how to do this, and some more actually doing it, I think I finally found a way to see, day by day, how the processing time from Received to Approved evolves over the time. It's been 3 long days, but I'm on vacation this week and finally got the time to finish it.

Below is a graph with the average processing time of all cases received every considered day and approved within the next 173 days from each of those days.

Example: For all cases received the 3rd of April I calculated the average processing time of all of those cases approved within the next 173 days from that day; from 04/03/17 to 09/23/17. The same goes for all cases received the 4th of April, but only considering approvals up to 09/24/17, and so on.

The explanation for it being 173 days is that that is the amount of days from the last day considered 05/31/17 up to the last scan available 11/20/17.

It was important to do it this way because this time I'm comparing all days individually, hence they had to be considered under the same circumstances. As in my previous graphs, only updated cases could be used for these results.

The interpretation is pretty easy and I think it gives a very good idea of (at last!) what the tendency is being (which was the whole purpose of going into so much trouble :)). I will only say that April has some pretty inconsistent days for which I don't have a clear answer (maybe they assigned each of those days' cases to faster or slower adjudicators?? I simply don't know). Also the original April file had to be manually modified (thanks again to Naes!), although I'm not sure that had anything to do with it.

As for May, it is much consistent and appears to show some stabilization after that nightmarish growth, which hopefully means what we all want to see, the first beams of light at the end of the tunnel.

I didn't have negative intentions but I do need to be smarter when I post potentially negative messages.  We are all under a lot of stress and posting bad news was unnecessary.  I try to be very honest but sometimes I don't need to share ALL my thoughts!

I grew up in Hillside.  I live in Elmhurst and work in Downers Grove.  Howdy neighbor.

Sorry to hear that. Try to keep your head up. I'm sorta in the same boat.

Sorry to hear about the way your lawyer is handling things. Although I know this isn't what you wanT to hear, but getting a lawyer for this process is really a waste of money unless your case or situation is really complex that might require one. Other than, there's nothing they can do to make the process move any faster or more efficient. All the lawyer plays in this process is your "representative" which basically means, the NOA2 and other paperwork goes to him directly, not you. But they aren't representing you in anything else. And the next phase after receiving the NOA2, still has nothing to do with you or the lawyer - that is all on the beneficiary for the most part (with the exception of the I-134, and additional supporting evidence), but like you just said, you're the one that has to prepare and sign all those documents, not the lawyer. And of course, he's gonna take longer to respond back to your emails - he's gotta get every nickel and dime's worth out of the retainer fee that you've paid with the hopes that once that is done, you will give him more money to continue on with this process that he has nothing to do with nor can help you any further along.

At the end of the day, unless a person's case truly requires a lawyer (i.e., beneficiary was previously deported, or USC/Beneficiary have a criminal record or something really complex), they are not needed. All that is needed is time, plenty of research, due diligence and of course, PATIENCE!

thank you! U also have a lawyer that does absolutely nothing but cash checks?

Absolutely useless. I could have done what they did myself. Even Rapid Visa does a better job because at least you can ask them questions throughout the process.  Hang in there.

hindsight is 20/20...after doing a little research and finding this site & group I realized he WAS a total waste of money. I would never even consider using him to continue the process and never recommend one for this petition unless its like you said, its a case that needs a lawyer.
