Morning Everyone,

Day 191 - I'm getting over the fact that I will not be receiving my NOA2 this week. No, I'm not thinking negative, just thinking logical and realistically. According to Monday's and Tuesday's scan - May 23rd is not getting touched/reviewed like the other received dates. I'm starting to believe that I will be over 200 days before I get my NOA2 (which next Friday will be 200 days for my fiancé and I). Which then looking at how NVC is dragging their....feet (not really the word I wanted to use, but trying to be a lady right now), my fiancé will probably not get an interview scheduled until mid-late January, but for every week we lose with no NOA2 is a week taken away, which then means I'm thinking more on the lines of a February arrival...SMH!!!

I don't know...maybe God and USCIS will talk to each other and make a liar out of me (although I doubt that it will happen).

Good luck everyone!!!

Im at 191 days as well. I was excited a couple weeks ago thinking they'll be working on our case but that excitement has faded. I just don't know what to expect anymore.

Hey guys, today I managed to talk to a human being from the embassy here (a very difficult task) and asked about changing my address for receiving the embassy packet. they said they couldn't answer any questions until I receive the packet :bonk:

anyway I don't know if it was that, an email to the embassy asking the exact same thing, or a call from the USC to the NVC to ask if they had shipped the stuff to Argentina or what, (or simply the crazy unfathomable logic this process has), something triggered this email:

Quote

[Addressed to me but sent to her email address],

The U.S. Embassy in BUENOS AIRES, ARG approved your request for expedited processing of your immigrant visa application. The National Visa Center sent your petition to this U.S. Embassy for their action. The Embassy will contact you soon to schedule a visa interview

and this:

Quote

[Addressed to her, also her email],

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiance(e)'s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy in BUENOS AIRES, ARG. The U.S. Embassy will contact your fiance(e) when they are ready to schedule a visa interview.

In the meantime, please have your fiance(e) and his or her children visit http://ceac.state.gov and complete Form DS-160, the online nonimmigrant visa application that is used for a K visa.

We really don't know what happened, we never mentioned the word "expedited" to anyone ever (it would have come in handy a few months ago lol) did it ever happen to anyone?

anyway my question is: I had asked the guy over the phone if I could submit the DS-160 yet and he said no, but he didn't really seem to know much about the process, his general attitude was "if you received the letter and paid we can arrange an interview date and that's all I do, otherwise I can't help you".

Now that we have this email instructing me to complete the DS-160 (which was already complete a couple weeks ago and waiting to submit), it's probably totally OK for submission, right? any horror stories concerning submitting the DS-160 after NVC phase but before receiving the embassy packet?

thanks and sorry for the lengthy post, I just felt like telling about this bureaucratical weirdness besides asking a question.
