@Meech @plyn1209 @Swissmiss82 @AJ001 My noa2 was 10-24. Nvc just received my case on Monday at 12:00pm and they happened to give me a case number that same day. I was one day short of 5 weeks. Just to give you all a better estimate of when it should be there. I also called uscis the day before thanksgiving (you need to speak to a tier 2 as a tier 1 didn’t even know my case was approved) to see if they even sent it out. They checked a separate tracking system and advised me it was sent out on 11-20. Took a full week to be received. Mine still shows at nvc on the ceac website but my ds-160 and fees will be paid today so I can look at the available interview dates. Even though I’m going to wait until it’s “ready” at the embassy before officially scheduling our interview. Hope this gives some clarity, as I too was getting anxious.

I still believe the problem is not NVC, but that USCIS doesn't send the files quickly enough and it's sitting there to be shipped to NVC.

So perhaps we should be calling USCIS not NVC. Not that calling helps that much but still...

If I was in these shoes - I'd be calling both places and bug them to get that case number to start DS-160 ASAP!

I mean nothing to lose but a few min on the phone once a day :)

I wanted to apologize to the group.  I forwarded a thread about the potential government shutdown yesterday but I should have done my homework first.  I didn't start the conversation but I did add a link.  As it turns out, USCIS is not impacted by a government shutdown.  They are a fee based agency so other then their HR department, visas will continue to be processed.

I am sorry if my post caused any extra stress.  We certainly don't need that.

I missed that yesterday - but you certainly get extra kudos for standing straight to that and researched :)

I know we are all in the same boat and don't mean to harm each other so - let's stay positive and hope for them NOA2's to come in a hailstorm today hihi

It can happen to all of us. At this point everyone is stressed out and going hard on each other so I'm not really surprised at the drama from yesterday. I'm glad it's all sorted out now and we have 1 less thing to be stressed about :D

I think it's very respectable that you can admit when you haven't done your research so kudos for that! I think everyone was quick to blame, it can happen to anyone. Hopefully you get your NOA2 soon and can move on with the process.

It was pointed out to me!  LOL  I should have not assumed that they were funded by the same budget.  The stress levels are high enough without these added distractions.  I didn't mean to cause more anxiety.  I will think before I post from now on.
