Question: why do you still have to call uscis if you're approved?

Nvc told me to call the uscis to see where my case is. It hasn’t been received by them yet.

Wow, hasn;t it been like over a month?!

Yea. I just spoke with a tier 2. Told him I’m aware I’m approved. “If your already know what’s your question”. **in my head, where the hell is my case**. I would like to know where my case is at. It’s been almost 5 weeks and nvc has nothing, there’s no way you can track it and at least tell me where it’s at? He said that on 11-20 it was sent to them. He had to check a “different tracking system”. When I called the nvc on Monday they said it was received. Called everyday since and they keep telling me they haven’t received anything. I honestly don’t know what to believe. The only numbers that have matched at all this week for anything was 11-20 when the nvc said it was received and now uscis said it was sent that day

Even easier way Mr @Shoegum - You have a list at your fingertips of WAC numbers to say... "oh really Mr Tier 2... if you're working May cases, then take a look at these WAC numbers I will list to you that show you are working on June... and its not just one case, so exactly how do you explain that Mr Tier 2 person..."

(I totally pictured this in my head and laughed)

I got to talk to Tier 2 yesterday and I tried to insist that "I have hard evidence" they are now processing June cases while there are plenty of May applicants still waiting. Didn't help even a bit :(

The truth of the matter is USCIS is not legally obligated to process applications in the order they were received.  If that was the case, we could easily proof wrongdoing, but its not and they couldn't care less about your arguments regarding order of processing :(

Someone else mentioned on this forum that you need to be persistent in asking to speak to an immigration officer and you don’t shut up until you do. Once you get to him you say it’s out of normal processing times. Be persistent and they they’ll look into it. We never had to call because I was waiting for the 6 months mark to call but thank the lords of Kobol we never made it to that!!!!!

How is "immigration officer" is different than "tier 2"? I could be wrong, but it seems like for those of us who have "Case Received" as a status that means our applications are sitting in a some sort of pile, waiting for someone to get to them.  So what really needs to happen is someone has to dig up those papers and put them on top of the pile. Are there any indications that this ever happened to anyone?

Just curious and throwing this out there...

Has anyone ever complained to the Better Business Bureau about this?  Do they even have jurisdiction?  Is there a way for complaints about such completely unacceptable "service" to be escalated?  I'm having a hard time believing there is absolutely no way to enforce accountability or basic servicing standards here, but if there is a way, I can't think of what it might be.

Better Business Bureau concerns with private business, not government offices. In fact there is nothing to guess or evaluate there - government is slow, inefficient and wasteful.  Can you imagine USCIS sending you a survey with "how did we do?" or "what can we do better in the future?". Or better yet can you imagine what and average response would've been?

Yay! Hopefully it will be fast.

For the Canadian police check did you get the basic police check done (that's what they told me is enough for visa purposes) or the extreme one with the fingerprints?

Thanks.

Hey there. How did you get your Canadian police check? I went to grad school in Canada and lived there for 7 years so I’m gonna need a background check from there too.

I'm WAC1790339591 and I'm still waiting too.

So I called and spoke to them they transferred me to a Tier 2. Waited 20 minutes for a call back and Tier 2 says, you are past 6 months but right now they are currently processing 5/1, as soon as that website changes to any date past 5/17 then your inquiry will hold more weight. You are getting close, they will respond to the Inquiry but it will probably say you still within normal processing. #######

Got my Email notification.... I'm still within processing times. 5/17 filer what a let down
