After my approval was posted on the USCIS Tuesday, 14th I read the case history that was attached on the USCIS site. I saw this "On November 8, 2017, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number SRxxxxxxxxxxxCSC, was assigned to an officer for response." I used a attorney to process the papers paid good money for this service. Basically just for the knowledge that all the "Tees" are crossed and "eyes" are doted... I got to proof the documents prior and saw a misspelling or two. Corrections made and sent. I contacted the attorney last week at day 176 and she just told me to wait additional 2 weeks and see if we got the approval. She didn't tell me she was going to submit the inquiry but  I see now that she must have submitted a inquiry the next day based on the statement posted here in bold. I know some have called and tried to submit the inquiry around the same time frame or afterwards and was told that they couldn't because they were in the "normal processing" Really what is the normal time frame, Normal seems to be abnormal. I guess the attorney has a way or able to state the right things to get the inquiry but it moved once she did. Otherwise I can almost bet I would be stuck still in May 15th like so many others are now still untouched.

Wow, what a surprise.  The tracker still has us as "received."  I checked the mail, tonight, and I had a sweet approval letter waiting for me.  I was a May 25th person with my case number being 1790342095. Can you guys tell me what comes next?  The letter mentions something about waiting 30 days for my pack to be sent to an embassy, then obtaining a new NVC case number.  When do I turn in financial documents proving that I meet the income standard?  When can my fiancee schedule an appointment for vaccinations and medical exam?  Can it be a self-selected, private doctor or does it have to be a government approved clinic?  Do I have to interview with anyone, in the US, or just her?  (Russia)

After obtaining the case number, you can track your case file status at https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx. Once the tracker says 'Ready', it means the file has arrived at the local embassy. Once you have the case number from NVC, fill out your DS-160.  https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx  When you complete DS-160, print the confirmation page.  You will need this for the interview. Then you pay the visa fee.  Pay here: https://payusvisafee.rsb.ru Make a copy of this also, you will need for the interview.  The invoice has a receipt number. It will take about 24 hours for this receipt number to be accepted by the US Travel docs web site. Now you can setup your profile at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ru  Actually you can do this at any time, but you will need your NVC case number and receipt number to complete. When you have all this done, and your case is at the embassy, the embassy will send an email with letter attached.  This email is sent to the petitioner's email provided in the I-129F.  The email says you can schedule interview and follow the directions in the attached letter.  There is no packet 3 - embassy just sends email now. When you log into the http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ru you will see the "continue" tab on left menu.  Select this, and confirm payment, and then it will go to the "schedule interview" page. Make sure you review this page for interview preparation and documents you need to send to embassy before interview: https://ru.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

The medical exam should be done in Moscow. You can check Russian portal for more information on this site.

@Shoegum sorry, my computer is acting weird and I think I messed up something in the title above "RFE sent back date"

@K+D did they reply to your RFE the same day they received it? How did they reply? Just saying on their site that it was received?

15th Nov response to RFE received...12 days later :jest: I wonder if they only updated it because of that maintenance. Now the wait continues....

Oh so that was you?? I was just doing the midnight scan and there was 9 rfe received... most likely they just updated those after hours when they're getting things organized or something.

I am may 15 also, But was un able to open case inquiry...I am un aware of any special access lawyers have..  The rules for what is and is not "within normal processing times" should apply to everyone regardless of having a lawyer or not... THIS PROVES that all cases are not being treated equally... I have watched some guys here defend uscis workers as tho they are beyond reproach...but frankly ive had enough...There is NO VALID REASON that may 30 should have so many approvals when there are so many  may 6 and may 15 still untouched... I am so sick of OVERPAID FEDERAL UNIONIZED WORKERS.

dont get me wrong im happy for everyone who gets approved and or processed...But im so sick of government agencies  that  claim more in pay and benefits than the value of the work they produce....

IT IS UNACCEPTABLE that one may15th case is able to file an inquiry when others of the same date are not.....The next person who defends uscis workers should have his or her head examined for having shat for brains....

& @LucyDolly. I want to chip in here about my thoughts on passport renewal during this process. I cross borders a lot with business on my 2-year old passport but the scanners no longer recognise my page as it has a fold in it on the profile page. Ive been told by passport control that the only way I can stop ‘human’ screening is to replace it, but I’m hesitant to do so during this process as I don’t want another passport number on my record which may cause a red flag. So if your passport is still worthy and valid, don’t change it which would create another passport number if you can help it imo.

Thank you for your help - it's not terribly damaged. The pages gave just gone slightly crinkly and stamps faded a bit.

I am a May 17 filer and was able to file a Inquiry when the system had the error of processing Sept. 1, the entire system needs an overhaul. I have reached 6 months of waiting and it's ridiculous when the same time last year it was 90 days. So unfortunate, and not only that we paid higher fees the filing fee went up almost $200 per petition over last year. Smh !!!

I'm a May 24th filer and I was able to submit an enquiry on 08/11/17.

it is RIDICULOUS that the process is taking so long. Some kind of independent body should be called in to do a full enquiry on USCISs procedures!
