Hello my dear! Hope you are ok, been rooting for your NOA2 - Come On!!!!

Ok this is my take (Purely UK specific). From my endless stalking of March/April filers from the UK, the whole process from NOA2 could be done in 6-8 weeks (provided you have everything ready to go). These guys received their NVC numbers typically 2-3 weeks from NOA2 (Lucky them!).

However, currently the NVC timescales look to be taking more like 4 weeks to even the full 6 weeks from NOA2 :( which is a bit pants.

(although in fairness to the NVC they do say it can take up to 6 weeks, it just happened faster before).

With the medical and then interview, it depends on availability of appointments to predict any sort of timeline, however I remain optimistic appointments will be plentiful and they will be positively bursting to see us all :D

In the meantime, (am sure you are on this already), get everything ready so you are good to go when the time comes - just so you are not waiting on any docs:

- Passport in order (I had a stress out about having a different passport number to the original application before NOA2,  but i had to renew my passport as it expires July 2018 and was getting close to having 6 months left so didn't want this to cause any issue for my appointment).

- Police report

- Full birth certificate

- Jabs updated if you need any boosters (my poor arm is well and truly done with vaccinations!)

- Medical summary from your docs.

Also for any UK folk who are interested this may be helpful, I found a full blog written by a fellow VJer who went through the process this year - she is awesome and super helpful with answering queries. https://yaztalksalot.wordpress.com/

Hope this helps xxxx

Thanks so much love xxx this is a massive help. It's so hard to know when to plan everything when I'm still working full time - I want to have a few weeks with my family and friends before I leave for good, and I don't want to be spending my last few weeks in the UK at work in the office! Yes I'm remaining optimistic too that they'll have plenty of appointments for us :D

Ive had a good look at my medical records and it seems flu was the only jab I was missing so I had that done at Boots yesterday (£12.99 - very happy with that haha). I'm currently getting everything together for my police cert and will send that off as soon as NOA2 comes through.

I can see there's been a few case numbers very close to mine approved today so let's hope fingers crossed we will hear very soon.

My passport expires in 2024 but it did get wet (spilled a whole cup of water on it on a recent trip back from Rome) so a few of the stamps have water faded but are still visible - is it recommended to replace my passport if it's been water damaged slightly?

My fiancé is busy getting his apartment ready for his family (mom and siblings) to visit for 2 weeks over thanksgiving so that's keeping him nice and busy and focused. Wish I could be there! Excited to have our first thanksgiving together next year though. 😊😊😊

I am really aiming to be there before my birthday (mid January)

Xxx

Only 2 May 15s in the scan today...are there anymore May 15ers left hanging around besides us? It looks like there is a good chance a NOA2 is sitting in the mailbox at home...right? I leave the Philippines for home tomorrow....

Have you used your passport to travel with since the spill? A slight damage I wouldn't worry too much, you could always call the embassy to double check when you get your NOA2 to be on the safe side. (If you do need to get a new one, I received my renewed passport back within a week and I didn't sign up for fast track, just did the post office pre check).

Ahhh I know about thanksgiving, boooo - but at least you can keep busy at work and try to do anything and everything to keep your mind off the wait :)) I am sure you will hear super soon and will be there in no time :)

& @LucyDolly. I want to chip in here about my thoughts on passport renewal during this process. I cross borders a lot with business on my 2-year old passport but the scanners no longer recognise my page as it has a fold in it on the profile page. Ive been told by passport control that the only way I can stop ‘human’ screening is to replace it, but I’m hesitant to do so during this process as I don’t want another passport number on my record which may cause a red flag. So if your passport is still worthy and valid, don’t change it which would create another passport number if you can help it imo.

Hey @Shoegum, I'm an October filer, so I still have a long way to go, but your scans are amazing! Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do the scans each day? I like the idea of helping when our time comes, so wondered if the info was somewhere that was easy to access!

Thanks for being awesome for your May filers... What a rockstar!

R

I'm an October filer as well, looking forward to your reports :)

@sumbunny @YandJ

Hi guys,

there are already some October filers contacted to me. Let's get through to September and someone in your month will be probably doing it.

Let's hope the times will be normal then and you won't even need it! 😊

So how many people have received NOA2 in the mail while online status still says "Case Was Received" and no SMS or email?

I am just curious about how common is that..

A common estimate here is 15%

Didn't count but easily 25-30 I've seen all around. And that's just vj. At first I was estimating 5% of the total would be that way. But now I'm thinking aroun 15% of each month for April and May.

they almost stopped April, the numbers are so low for them now. Unless they will leave all those people without a notice, a good part of it must have already received some type of notice.

this number is not really used after it goes To NVC so no reason for USCIS to actually go out of their way and update after it is already sent.
