Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you can help me.

So, when we filed our petition, I was living in an apartment with a roommate, sadly.. sha passed away :(

After that, I couldn't live there anymore, so I moved to another place. I am the beneficiary, do any of you guys know how to proceed to change my latest address?

All I can find about is how to change the petitioner address :s

Day 108 here, by the way!

I'm wondering what the record is for how many times one has checked one's timeline in a single day, hoping that the adjudication approximation dates might have changed for the better... starting to feel a bit beyond neurotic at times...lol....

Aww, thank you! :jest:

BTW, I think you can change your address when your case gets to the Embassy. Maybe you can ask when it's at NVC too, but it seems to me you can email the Embassy when your case shows as Ready to provide them with your new contact info. Good way to remind them to send you packet 3 too :)

Guys, I'm getting everything ready for the interview (i know it can take a few months lol), but I was reading online and I saw that they will need my fiancees divorce certificate cause he was married before, and thats ok cause we sent a copy to uscis, but... they say they need the original one??!

It's risky for my fiancee to mail the original certificate to me, isnt it? and then when I will have it back?! Cause they keep the docs we take to the interview, right?

I'm so confused, help :c

Usually legal paperwork is filed with a court or county clerk.  You can obtain a copy with a proper signature and seal for a few dollars.

That way, you can keep a few copies around (or know that you can get another copy just in case)

I'm not sure because this might be country specific, but usually at the Embassy stage they are asking about your (beneficiary) divorce decree, if that was the case. And yes, when that's it they ask for the original, like they do with the birth certificate and police record. They shouldn't be asking about the petitioner's one, because that was already sent to USCIS and checked... So maybe double check what they are really asking for.

yeah, I checked on the embassy website that I'm going to have the interview done, and it asks for originals of both beneficiary and petitioner, which i thought it was weird too, but :/

anyway, he is mailing them to me just to be sure we have everything good

Well, at least certified copies of the divorce decree are quite easy to get. The birth certificate is worse and more expensive :)
