Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We've waited for our RFE hard copy for 5 days and during that time we managed to prepare again, print photos, tickets and add the information we didn't submit for the first time.

This was my experience:

I received email notice of RFE: September 25th, 2017

I received the RFE in hand: September 28th, 2017

I sent the RFE response via priority express mail: September 28th, 2017

I received an update that USCIS had received my response: September 29th, 2017

NOA2: October 10th, 2017

There is no way to find out about it in advance.

To speed things up overall there is nothing you can do but there are a few things to ensure that the RFE is processed and you receive you approval as quickly as possible :

1. I would recommend going through your original petition to identify anything that could be your RFE. I did this and figured the only thing I could be getting an RFE for is for additional evidence that we had met even though I sent a ton of stuff originally so I compiled every single thing I had. I left work early when I saw the RFE was coming in my informed delivery and had sent it off at the post office by 1:32 PM the same day it was delivered.

2. Send it priority express so that USCIS will receive it the next day, this will save you a couple of days. Also this allows you to track the package so you know they have received it.

Best Wishes

Thank you! Just one more question...how did you know when the mail was coming?

You said " I left work early when I saw the RFE was coming in my informed delivery and had sent it off at the post office by 1:32 PM the same day it was delivered." What's an informed delivery? Knowing at least when is coming would be very helpful!

Thank you very much to take the time to explain to me your esperience! It's priceless!

Informed delivery is a service you can sigh up for online with the United States post office. They send you an email with images of the letters arriving in your mailbox that morning. I saw I was receiving something from USCIS so I knew the RFE was coming that day. I would highly recommend signing up for this service. Hope this helps!

Thank you, we did that, I even got the app, but I can't find out where I can see the future coming mail and when it will get at our house.

WHere can I find those information about timing? I believe I don't need tracking number, since you probably didn't have one from USCIS, right?

Correct, no tracking numbers are involved. Since you just signed up you probably won’t have anything show up yet. But both the app and online should show each day of the week and will indicate the number of pieces of mail and also give an image of it. You will also get an email each morning that you have mail coming containing the images of the mail pieces.

how long has it taken people who submitted their RFE to get a reply back in the past month or two?

Well I'm sooooooooo glad I missed all "the drama". I'm May 17 and they skipped that day with a  few lucky exceptions.

I am wishing everyone well, and I'm glad for any date that gets lucky enough to get their approval. I am hopeful for mine but happy for everyone else. We in this together group collectively as "May Filers"......

I have my bad days as everyone else. We are closer than ever and good luck to us all, and if you have your NOA2 runnnnnnnn to the finish line.

Have a great weekend, and good luck to everyone waiting for a successful upcoming week !!

what drama, what happened? i haven't in the thread until today I think and am too lazy to read the last 25 pages.

Don't read it, just a lot of unnecessary drama and people being rude, so be glad you too lazy to go back. I just read over it like "wow" and moved right along. But to answer your question most people have been around two weeks. So you don't have a long wait !!!! Thank goodness for that.

Ours took 5 days to get approved from the day the app updated the "response to USCIS' rfe received". Oct 25 to Oct 30. But we mailed them the response since oct 16(tracking said they actually received it on oct 18).

A lot of cases looks like moves around 2 weeks but I saw even shorter ones and sometimes longer ones. Depending on the type of the RFE. (I even saw a 1 day hehe in the scans tho so I would trust that the way I would trust uscis tracking system...)

10 pages of everybody being tired and frustrated. Don't read and make your mood down.
