I'm sorry I can't help you, since I don't think I've ever heard of a meeting requirement waiver. I thought you just can't apply if you don't have what's requested, unless you can prove that for culture or religion it's forbidden for you to meet (or something similar it's written on USCIS site).

I'm just worried they will see the fact like you've never met as a scam, they can think it's very difficult you can be truly in love with a person you've never met. But who knows, they may just want to check on you two better and tell you if you don't meet at least once you can't get it...no idea, I know thinks like you know things. Whish you the best luck! :)

Thanks anyway, I'll try to get to meet her

I honestly didn't look! I was waiting to board a flight to the US when I got the emailed and scheduled it in 2minutes!

So they consulate only takes Christmas and New Years off. Look at your consulates website and they'll have holiday closures on it.

Oh question - After your approval, is there a chance you might be bugged at the airport? Or you can travel there without a problem?

I booked a flight to visit my fiance for the long weekend in two weeks and this was before we got the approval. I just hope they don't bother me.

I read your story and I do not think you can apply for a tourist visa during a k1 process. And if yes, chances of getting it and making it to the us would be very low. The best option for you now is asking her to come meet you as soon as possible, and then send this evidence when they ask for it (which will probably be pretty soon). If it's not an option for now, I would plan a trip for her whenever she can and refile after that.

This is the truth this is exactly what it is can you imagine there's a flight coming to my country on 14  to return on the 21 (a week) it's a deal for just 800$  still giving me excuses I'm really in my worse state now seeing all the approval without a hope thanks anyway

Hey guys!

For the packet 3's checklist, they have the below stuff:

Adoptions decree (s)

 Marriage certificate (s)

 Death and/or divorce certificate(s)

Court records

 Military records

Do these apply to everyone? If they do not apply to you do you still have to checkmark them?

I guess I would have mixed feelings....you know they touch your case, and one usually gets approved soon after submitting RFE to the USCIS. Keep me posted on what your RFE is about if you feel comfortable doing so. Just trying to gather as much information as I can. I heard of people here who get an RFE for stuff they already submitted...makes me wonder what is up with that place in California :)

Our RFE hard copy came. It was ask for information that we've met personally - photos, airplanes tickets, descriptions of our meetings, admission stamps and all the info of our meetings we have. Photos with dates, tickets, passports pages we have  sent previous time. But I think our RFE was because my fiance didn't describe the details of the meeting circumstances in a form ( he wrote 4 or 5 lines) and didn't add my admission stamps. Now we sent photos with dates and descriptions again, description of our meetings,  our tickets again, admission stamps, signed confirmation of my fiance's brother that I was a guest at his wedding with my fiance, our common cruise trip tickets ans some more things we have sent before ...

There is always a chance immigration will ask additional questions. My advice is be prepared. I've never experienced an issue at the border and I go to the US on a monthly basis.

Since filing for the K1 visa I always travel with the copy of my I-129F application, NOA1, NOA2, trip details, and a spreadsheet of how many days I've been in the US (based on the I-94) - but I've never been asked about the K1 visa. You shouldn't have any issue with a long weekend trip, but you can also bring anything that ties you back to Canada (letter of employment, rental agreement, mortgage, etc.)

That makes sense.

But when they ask for reason of visit, do you say "to visit my fiance" or its for business that you go there? Saying visiting my fiance might open up a whole bag of worms.

lol don't overthink it! I always use fiancé and have never been asked. Be honest. Even if they happen to ask if you plan on immigrating to the US you'll be prepared enough to answer that question :)

True! Thank you!

One more question -

For the packet 3's checklist, you know how they have the below stuff:

 Marriage certificate (s)

 Death and/or divorce certificate(s)

Court records

 Military records

Do these apply to everyone? If they do not apply to you do you still have to checkmark them?

Also for the Police certificates from each country in which the applicant has resided for one year or longer, do we need some type of certificate from our canadian police? If yes, how did you go about getting them?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I only check marked what was applicable to me, so I left the above unchecked.

For the police certificate I filled out the online application with the Toronto Police, as I live in the city. Link: https://www.torontopolice.on.ca/background-checks/criminal-record-check-process.php

Any police department will be able to run this for you. I'd recommend starting that ASAP as the wait can be long.

If you have any other questions, feel free to send me a message anytime :)

Thank you so much, this was so helpful!

I will go in-person soon as I work 2 mins away from the Toronto headquarters.

All the best with everything! :)
