Good Morning All! (Its morning here on the east coast of the USA)

We are truly struggling with the distance. We are only about 70 days post NOA1. The waiting time is painful and extremely difficult. How are you all coping with this while you wait. My work schedule is pretty hectic, however we communicate often via video/phone calls? How are you all able to cope?

My timeline keeps pushing back towards almost the end of September?!! HELP! :(

My fiancé is on the east coast, also. Thankfully she's not on the West... I don't know if I could handle that time difference. We just try to text a bunch, facetime at least once a day. Try to find something to look forward to. Sometimes I go on Amazon and order something random for the house. Makes me feel included, she can show it to me over Facetime, and such. She's also taking a class she missed during her undergraduate so she can get a promotion. Luckily, I majored in that field, so we spend some time facetiming and going over her homework.

Most of all, I found it to help the most to segment the wait. Try to plan visits, have the dates set so you can have something closer to look forward to. Setting many small goals is so much better than having that long road to the approved K-1.

Nothing helps, I just cry. Just kidding.... We do Facetime and talk and text as much as possible. We make plans for when he arrives here, and we are overly prepared for the interview, which I will attend, although I wont be able to go in with him. We just look forward to another visit and him coming back with me after the interview.

And yes, that darn timeline gets going back and back, my said August 16 at first, now its in September 😡

While the distance is wearing us out, we cope with constant every day communication and reminders that this distance will come to an end soon. I'm flying to visit my fiance next Thursday and staying 5 days and then flying again in September for his birthday for another 5 days and then I won't be back until his interview which is looking like late October early November at this rate. I hadn't been with him since May and before then was January. But after all these last trips I may have a day left of vacation.

He tells me that he prefers I use my vacation time to see him instead of holding on to it for while he's here because he knows that when he's finally here I will be coming home to him every day. Kinda made sense once he said he was okay with it.

But either way the distance is getting harder and costly and we've been doing this for a year and a half so far. Other than focusing on planning a small intimate wedding and constant communication is how we get through it.

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

My fiancé and I cope by reminding ourselves that this is the last few months that we have to go and then we can be together forever after this.  We've already been doing this international relationship for three years and to know that in just a few months we won't have to do it any more is a relief.  When you know forever is on the other side, it makes this waiting time much easier to handle.

I haven't seen my fiancé since February and usually I would be with him right now, but I know that I want to take some time off to attend his interview, which we are hoping is in October or November, and then also plan our wedding, we decided that I would not see him at this time.  But, if for some reason this process moves slower than we predict, I'm definitely doing to see him in November.

Hang in there, don't give up now!

You have a valid point. What is a few months compared to the rest of your life?

Thank you!!

well me and my Italian love text everyday throughout the entire day until he goes to bed. I haven't seen him since March 10th but he will be coming to visit me next Tuesday (I'll try not to knock him down when I jump in his arms :D). He is staying for an entire two weeks this time. Other than that we have just be living life until we can be together permanently. Just take it one day at a time. That's all any of us can do at this point. If you can make arrangements to visit eachother good. If not then just continue to keep the communication as much as time zone differences allow. Best of luck to you and your love. I know its hard but we have come this far, so just keep on doing what you have been doing. ;)
