So... I just arrived in Belgium and I'm already planning my next trip to the States. I just found a cheap flight from the end of August towards the end of September that I would like to book today. I know there is only a slight chance that it would happen seeying how USCIS is slow but what if they schedule my embassy appointment while I'm in the States? Would it cost me a huge delay to reschedule it?

It isn't advised you apply or travel on a tourist visa during the application process for any visa

I think as long as you have proofs that you will return to your contry and don't have the intention to stay, it's alright. When I went the first time they just asked me to show my flight back and didn't have any problem

As far as I know, you're the one to schedule your appointment at the embassy. At least in Brazil, I can eschdule myself and I can reeschedule as many times as I want. Check it out in Belgium, but I don't think this would be any different. ;)  Also, May fillers will probably have NOA2 by September... mayber even October. So enjoy your trip and by the time you're back home you will have your NOA2.

is there any way to ask California service center about the case status?

I remember seeing in their website that you can make an inquiry if you didn't receive any update in 150 days. From what I've seen with other colleagues, when they call or submit an inquiry, they are told to wait. No relevant information is disclosed. The wait can be painfull, but it is all we can do by now. :/

Processing a Visa through the PHILIPPINES?  Please READ.

I see your processing through the Philippines. Hank (from the Philippine Sub-Forum) has a website that will walk you through step by step on the Philippines process. It's free to use. He lists every step, including documents and other pertinent information so that you avoid the "gotchas" that are presented while processing. Gotchas can cost you time and or money. He'll help you avoid those.

Also, join others who are taking their steps for their journey in the sub-forum for the Philippines.  It's a group of those who have gone before you and those who are near where you are in your journey. Everyone is willing to help guide you and answer any questions.  Many years of experience there from Veterans.

This is the link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Also, get the Embassy letter for the Philippines so you can start preparing for "whats next" on your journey. Letter is here: https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

Thank you so much for the info from another member with a fiance in Manila.

I just checked and it seems like the Belgian embassy schedules the appointment itself. Worse case scenario I can still change my flight back 😬
