The funny thing is, I thought about filing my petition for my Fiancé last jan without telling her. I knew I was going to propose to to her (but hadn't already at that point). I had everything I needed to do it too. The  idea was that she would be approved by the time I proposed and we could just come to the US together over the summer. I hesitated thinking "no... its not right without telling her and without first proposing.. ."  and I obviously ended up not doing it. My fiancé and I had a sad laugh over this a few days ago..

oooh , i bet now you both laughed but cried at the same time!

we also talked about marriage in march and thought about filing (without an actual proposal) but postponed as we felt let's wait...

after the proposal in june we figured let's wait until i visit again in august and that's when we filled out the paperwork together.

and now the wait (sept filer) is so out of control that we try not to be too frustrated... but at this time we could be married already

N-400: 12/05/2023 (confirmed fingerprints are re-used)

Interview scheduled for: 05/09/2024

Guys please correct me if I am wrong, our friend @Travie makes it round 10 cases of members being approved or RFE, weather verbal or through mail, but all without being updated online. Do I have this right?

I would love you guys to let us know when they update the website with your info.

I’ll let you know when they do update it (if they do). Sometimes there is no update and you wake up with the approval letter in your mailbox. I’m just glad that after 170 I can start moving forward!

Wooohooooooo. I gave them my same lie and this time I actually received confirmation that yesterday we were approved and that the noticed should be mailed out in the next couple days. I had to ask him again to make sure. No update on the case tracker

may 8th received

October 24 approved (notice will probably say 25th or 26th)

I actually received an email status update that indicated I may be approved to denied apparently by mistake... I wonder if I can use that the same way you did for an approval ?!

It doesn’t hurt to try! Just pretend You don’t know anything, tell them you received a text that your were approved yesterday and you want to confirm the status with a tier 2 (I’ve never had to request a tier 2 with this method) they just transfer me

I usually don’t press a single button, after a minute or two it will think you have a rotary phone and will transfer you. I always get the Spanish line, just kindly ask them to speak in English, they will apologize and say you came through their Spanish line. Tell them you got a text saying your were approved yesterday but online shows different, can they confirm. They might say for them it doesn’t show that and they will transfer you. With this method I’ve never asked for a transfer they just offer. Worked the 4-5 times I tried.

@Alice L When we called NVC we got our case # a couple days after it left USCIS (called almost everyday:ph34r:). The day they told us they received it they also said it was under AP and that it was normal, but luckily it didnt last long and we got the case # the next day. So AP can be for hours, days, weeks & months. It depends on the case.

So the 4-5 times they told you it was a mistake and case has not been approved?

We took the decision almost in march but didn't filed until may. My fiancé isn't good with paperwork and the process stressed him out. Me on the other hand I was ready since march 😂

LOL my fiancé is the same! He hates paper work and I was ready to do it November 2016 but he's such a procrastinator, months went by and nothing was done until I decided to go to Texas myself and help him complete it. But I'm glad it worked out the way it did because had we sent it in November I wouldn't have had a job to save money. I only started working march this year. :)

Yes because I had never received a text from them. I only tried it the last couple of days because they are processing around my day (received May 8th). I don’t think they keep a record of what you call for because they didn’t call my bluff or say you called us yesterday with the same story. I spoke with a tier 2 today and he told me I was approved as of yesterday, I asked him twice. My notice hasn’t been mailed yet, he said within a day or two. Maybe when it gets mailed they will update the online to approved. Yes it has happened where cases are approved and not updated online.

TOTALLY THE SAME CASE!! My fiancé has procrastinated for two entire months. But filing later gave me the opportunity to find a job here in my country and save money, so I'm thankful for that!!

Also, I love your icon. Pusheen rules! <3
