Since we are at day 162 my fiancé just called USCIS. They said can't give much information, but now they are still processing April 1st cases...

WHICH IS SO DEPRESSING, but I also guess it's what the internet site says. WHen he asked more about last month update to get an idea of the speed, she said they don't have that information, which he had to say that if they update it every month at some point somebody knew!!!

Anyways, he asked for a tier 2 and they are supposed to call him back in 83 minutes! :o

Just be aware that they generally give “canned” answers that jive with whatever they have on their website.  Hopefully Tier 2 will have more information.

Day 163 and there are a couple cases that have been approved or RFE'd before our case, what happened to chronological order?

They have never processed in chronological order.  They get a stack and some are easier than others.  If they are hitting petitions around yours you should hear something soon.

There are still 1000 April petitions waiting while about 900 May petitions have already been seen.  You are close.  Just hang in there!

Yea there was one case 10 numbers prior and another one 5 numbers prior to mine that have gotten approved. Our case we organized in a binder with sleeves around each page and organized by document they process in order with 27 pictures of us and boarding passes and ticket stubs to various attractions. I don't understand how that is so difficult to process..

Thanks Shoegum! My case is near the top with an RFE-- I also got the notification on the app. I can't say I'm disappointed.. after reading others' stories on this forum about receiving RFE's for not sending copies of their passport stamps, I knew I'd probably be getting one too and started preparing 'additional evidence' weeks ago. I assumed the government would be able to see proof of our travels with our passport numbers but that would make too much sense lol. I'll wait for the notice in the mail next week and prepare the response this weekend. At this point, I'm actually happy to have news about the RFE rather than no news at all. Looking forward to seeing my 'Case Was Approved' on one of your future scans :)

yeah...it sounds like it would be a good idea for them to be able to check a database on their computer if we traveled to another country instead of relying on a copy of passport stamps

Hiii guys!! After receiving NOA2, when should my fiancé start calling NVC for the case number? Is the NOA2 hard copy necessary for police clearance, Medicals and DS form? Please let me know if anyone knows ? I am from India so my case is going to come to the Mumbai embassy.

Hiii. My fiancee is from India.  My NOA2 date was 10/6 and I got my NVC casenumber 10/17. Right now it is still at NVC

You can fill out the ds160 without the NOA2.  I recommend getting it done asap. You also do not need need NOA2 for police clearance. Again.... I would get started on that asap.

As far as medical...... we have New Delhi embassy,  the hospital we will use requires a form that shows your interview appt date.  I'm new to this too but as far as I know you can't book medical til you book the interview appt.  I would book the medical 7 to 10 days before interview just to be on the safe side.

Hope this helped! :)

The really sad part is they admit they only look at each petition for between 5 and 15 minutes. It takes 6 months for them to even look at it!

I know :/ . What is your petition number? Do you use a tracker app? I see a couple new numbers approved today that weren't on Shoegums earlier scan.

@Alice L @WhJi I just got off the phone with USCIS. The tier 1 officer told me the system does not show APPROVED, DENIED, or RFE. She said the system shows "documents mailed" and  her best guess is its an approval. I asked to be connected to a tier 2 who said the same thing , except he said its probably a response to an inquiry I made over a month ago...

I already received a response to that inquiry about 5 days after I made it and the response would probably cite the specific inquiry, right?  Or maybe they sent me this email by accident?

I apologize that I did not copy the full email. the full email makes a reference to an APPROVAL or DENIAL of my petition:

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

Receipt Number: WAC1790327977

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

We mailed your document for your Form I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), Receipt Number WAC1790327977. If you do not receive your document by November 18, 2017, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we resend the document to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

Sounds exactly what I have in mind. But I don't have any status for my case at NVC yet :(

My fellow VJ's, here is my update, hopefully it may help to know your time is coming:

NOA1 - 2 May 17

Spoke with Tier 1 and 2 on 19 Oct (day 170); Tier 2 told me we were approved on 14 Oct (day 165, Saturday) and letter was mailed on 17 Oct to me.

Received NOA2 letter from USCIS today, Friday 20 Oct 17 (envelope was stamped 16 Oct)

I was never approved via notice by the scans (but very thankful for them that is for sure, kept me semi-sane knowing I wasn't alone), or the 2 apps I have.

I am registered on the informed delivery option with the USPS.com, let's you know when what mail is coming to you for that day, sends you a snapshot in the morning of what you will have in your mailbox that day.

I will stay on VJ all the way and then some to see everyone's journey or provide feedback as I have been provided through this first step of our journey!

Keep the faith and it is coming, despite the wait and best wishes to all still waiting for notifications!  This is a true Godsend being on this VJ forum!!  Thank you!!

Congratz, i tried signing up for the informed delivery but not available at my address which sucks.

I see your NOA2 date is 10/10. You should be able to check case status soon. In India the police clearance  is valid for 6 months. So as soon as our uscis case was approved I told my fiancee to get started on the police clearance. That way it's done before the case even gets to embassy.
