Question: What’s the invoice number for?

Wow you’re so blessed. We got the approval day Oct 9th but not received yet :(

But I’m happy for you. Good luck on the rest of your journey

Not all RFEs are input in the USCIS system.  My case still says received May 4, but I just spoke to a Tier-2 officer and was told I was sent an RFE on October 12.  I still haven't received anything in the mail.

I hope we were told wrong information, but I doubt it. Annoyed, after 6 months they decide to request additional evidence...

I think tier 2 has more information access or visibility. Though the first tier 2 I spoke with hung up on me after I asked him how come there is no update on the case and if he can get me to someone who would... When I spoke with a tier 2 today she told me there was a RFE  being generated but is not mailed out yet, should be receiving in the coming week(s).. I'm kinda salty

When the first person came on, they are Tier 1 and you will have to tell them why you are calling.  I told them I was getting a different notice from my app than what I was seeing online; one says approved and one says "still showing as received", can you transfer me to a Tier 2 officer so I can see what the real status is of my package?  And she said yes I will transfer you.  She transferred me and I had to leave a message for the Tier 2 officer to call back, wait time was 65 min.  They called me back and I repeated my response as I  told the Tier 1 person and she said "Oh, well you were approved on 14 Oct and we mailed the letter 17 Oct..  I was surprised neither person fought me on my request's for information.  Good luck when you try!!  I called around 1030AM.

When I called and received my case number and invoice number I asked the lady.

She said you need it when you pay your visa fees but she also said its only for immigrant visa.  We are non immigrant. Anyway, I would keep it safe in case you end up needing up.

One lesson learned this year,  don't trust a professional just cuz they are a professional. So definitely keep it in a safe place in case you do end up needing it.

Unless they did a service request on you and gave you a reference number, they will not have a record of you calling.  You could call Monday or Tuesday, let the system maybe update over the weekend and see on Monday. Wishing you the best!!!

Thank you. Do you know how long after getting the case number can the case be tracked? We got it today and checked on the ceac tracker and it says the search doesn’t find any data..

You're welcome!!! I had the same problem... choose the "immigrant" option on the case tracking site. I was able to begin tracking right away
