Does anyone have an estimate of how long it is taking to get NVC case number after receiving NOA2? Thanks!

Why don't we Oct 10ish start calling and let each other know? :)

I couldn't agree with you more...I don't know what I would do without the support and help from the VJ community.

Here is the response from the USCIS Ombudsman:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for contacting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (Ombudsman’s Office).

You may submit a case problem online through Form DHS-7001 to the Ombudsman’s Office.  If you currently have a case pending with the Ombudsman’s Office and have already submitted your case online, you will receive a separate email acknowledging your case submission and addressing your question. If you have not submitted a Form DHS-7001, Case Assistance Form, or you have not submitted your case online, we will not respond to this email.  Please see our website for additional information about your case submission.

Please note the Ombudsman’s Office is independent of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  Our statutory mission is to assist individuals and employers who experience problems when filing applications or petitions with USCIS.  If you have a legal question, you should seek an experienced immigration legal service provider.  Please see below for a list of Frequently Asked Questions, including information about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Department of State.

Good to know thanks @dnavinnie.  I just sent my information to our Senator's office, no idea how quick they jump or what it will do, but it can't hurt.  Here's to hoping for some good things this week!

I saw something about this earlier. A new travel ban for certain countries but would that mean applicants going through the fiancé or spouse process would not be able to continue it or will they just no longer take new applications?

I'm worried about something now..going through these scans i found many may 22nd noa1 that says case rejected cause form is no longer in use(something like that) but mine zays case received..I'm confused,is it cause of I-129f form? We used old one, but it was still valid then, and if it wasnt shouldn't our case say rejected too or?

If you've already got a receipt number and they haven't rejected yours within a week or so of reiceiving it you should be absolutely fine. They reject for wrong forms very quick from what I've read on here

My wac is 327977.  from Shoegums scans, we are roughly 912 applications away from where USCIS is processing today. at an average of 25 approvals per day, thats puts us at another 36 days...

But if USCIS starts spitting out 135 approvals per day like last tuesday, that would put us within range in just 6 days.

 this wait is brutal.

The case numbers are assigned to lots of different visa form applications so it won't be as many as 912 it should be quite a few less than that. If you download the app called Case Tracker you can view what each ref number corresponds with so for example the ref number before yours could be an application for another type of visa e.g. not a K1

Day 168. My fiancé did the same thing. We are both on edge watching all the cases around us get touched. I contacted the USCIS ombudsman and will let you know what results I get. I wish you guys good luck this week @Julie and Kerren.

Please let us all know how your experience with the ombudsman goes. If our case drags on until January or so we will contact the ombudsman also.

The short answer is that no one really knows yet. I contacted my senators office and they said that our case would most likely be set aside at the NVC stage and that they would not forward it to any embassy until we can provide enough evidence to satisfy some type of waiver.  the criteria for the waiver requirement is mentioned in the new ban but who know if and how it would be implemented.

This whole indefinite ban from Trump has me and my fiancé terrified that we will never be able to be with each other... Thankfully, the judges order just bought us a few weeks before the court of appeals reviews it!  praying for an approval and that we can an interview and visa through this legal mess!

day 159.

Hi

How did you get your appointment so quick at consulate in Manila? Should my fiance go for medical exam with her son early? or at same time as interview? We did not get our NVC # Yet but i call them every day! I want to have Yhtur here before Christmas......am i dreaming?

Nairb

Not sure who you are addressing here maybe @smilei? You can't schedule an appointment until you have you NVC/MNL number and after you have your receipt for visa fee deposit from BPI.  They need to fall in line very early for both interview and medical some show up at 2am to 3am. If son is an infant or toddler you might be able to make priority arrangement directly with ST. Lukes or Embassy to avoid line not sure though.  Keep calling NVC if you get the # this week things can move fast but interview appointments are going very fast as I've found out. One tip. You can make the deposit NOW without the MNL/NVC number at BPI Philippines bank.
