i wonder if they randomly do evens and odds to just change it up for fun. for us, we're all up in this process, but for case workers, i imagine it can get boring to look at cases all day

Maybe so, but going in order is how it should be done, depending on the complexity of the package (approval/RFE) might be how it's done.  By the time you look through a package to determine it's approval or RFE status, why separate them, just start plowing through them??  All guess' to keep us wondering, keeping the faith!
