I have a question,

So my fiance is coming to visit July 15th to the 24th. We were worried we may get an rfe due to only meeting once, but we figured since he's coming to visit again before the approval, it could help our case when he has his interview, or if we do receive an rfe. Is there a way to send in extra evidence a few months into the process that will help your case or should we just wait it out and see what happens?

Also, have you guys ever thought about just getting married while visiting before the approval? That way it's already done, you don't have to get married in those three months after the approval and you can focus on permanent residency instead. Would that help your case or mess up the fiance visa?

It's just something he and I thought about and figured it'd be helpful to ask you all

Well from what i read and in my opinion, it would definetely mess up all your process. I mean, i dont know if there is a way they will know it, but you will have to send evidence aboit the day your married for AOS process, and the date could mess it all up.

You are supposed to marry with the k-1 visa in the US.

if you get married in another country before the visa is out, or in the us with tourist visa, I would think this process was for nothing, but I can be wrong.

about the evidence, I never heard of someone mailing it in the mid of the process without a rfe, so i have no idea

Don't send them any additional proof or information unless requested via RFE. Save all the new evidence for the interview.

And getting married while visiting, after starting the K1 process, would definitely hurt your case. I mean, if you get married in the US, i think you would have a lot of trouble proving the beneficiary didn't come into the country with that purpose, since you were in a K1 process, and that's visa fraud. If you get married abroad, then you should abandon the K1 and start a spouse visa, that takes much longer.

Thanks for the advice! Well stick to the k1 visa. It was just a thought we had. Would seem easier to get it out of the way wouldn't it? xP

I'll hold onto new evidence also. We're just worried about getting an rfe because we've only met once. So hopefully we won't, and if we do well have new evidence for them (:

Much easier! :D And that happens, yep, but you have to be able to prove that was an impromptu thing and not the reason for the visit from the start.

Best of luck in your journey with no RFE'S!

You are only required to have met in person at least once during the previous two years before filing. Having an afditional visit is good to show at the point of interviewing.

No you can not get married and continue with the Fiance, you will need to cance the K-1 and start a new Spousal Petition. You will lose your fee paid for the K-1 and the processing time will increase to about a year.

Hi Everyone,

we recieved our NOA1 May 15th and today we received our NOA2 June 29th, with no RFE's !!! :):):)  (The letter was dated June 22nd but the mail came today)

My fiancé is in the Marines and it was an expedited case (which the did super fast 38 days) BUT I wanted to give y'all hope because they are on track of everything and yours will come! I was having anxiety attacks, stressed, upset... and boom, out of nowhere.. NOA2.

no text, no email, nothing to even say our expedite had been approved, it just appeared Lol!

Keep the faith!!!!! <3

Anyone can file an expedite request - it is for a USCIS officer to decide if it is worthy of expediting or not, if it fits under any of the headlines. Yes military is the main one as they're serving their country and he is being deployed but, it can also be for humanitarian, personal reasons.. etc etc.. check on the USCIS website

and thankyou ❤️
