Expedited? Could be military personnel....they get priority.

I know that things right now are very discouraging and depressing as things have truly slowed down for us. When we started the process, we were looking at August being our month for approvals, but now we are all the way into mid-October/early November. Not really sure what words of encouragement I can give you all, because I, myself, am struggling just as bad as the rest of you.

 

The only thing I will say is, you have to keep the faith that you will get your approval. I know, easier said than done, but as it has been said plenty of times before by other VJ members in other forums, another day less is another day closer. For every case that has been approved today makes room for your case to be approved tomorrow and the days to come.

 

No I don't have a secret portion on how to cope, because truth of the matter is, I haven't been coping and it has started to affect my relationship with my fiancé - petty disagreements seem to be our new thing now; but we have come to realize that it's this waiting and uncertainty of not knowing that has us like this. I literally had to apologize to my fiancé a couple of hours ago because when I really looked at where it was all coming from, it's coming from the fact that I'm just really sick and tired of being stuck and not being able to be with the one I want to spend my life with every single night. But at the end of the day, I'm not gonna let this process destroy me, what me and my fiancé have worked hard for and what we are trying to build. We've come too far.

 

I share this with you all because I want you all to know that you're not alone and we are truly blessed to have a site like VJ so that we can rely on each other to get each other through this. We just gotta hold on and know that our "Golden Ticket" is right around the corner. Hopefully Tuesday will bring on a flood of multiple approvals on every day.

My unsolicited wisdom, for what it's worth... relationships are hard; long-distance relationships are harder; extreme long-distance relationships are even harder; extreme long-distance relationships with this Visa process involved prove to be a true test of the strength of the relationship itself.  Yes, it will stress the strongest of bonds and it will manifest itself in ways that you won't even see coming or have ever imagined could possibly exist as part of your character makeup.  Anxiety and stress will turn the most thoughtful loving person into someone that they might not recognize themselves... it's nothing to be embarrassed about; it is something to recognize and correct when it happens and it, likely, will happen.  As I've often repeated this cliche:  keep your eye on the prize.  If your relationship is meant to be then you WILL get through this and... you will come out on the other side even stronger than when you first embarked on this journey...

Only gets expedited if you have orders to go on deployment.
I'm in the military also and had no luck on getting it expedited.

Thank you, yes, I'm glued to this site and my phone.  The girl I spoke too was very polite and I asked her a few questions and then she said I can transfer you to another person to answer your question.  In order to get to that 2nd Tier I asked questions I already knew the answer to and hope she didn't and would transfer me and then I asked if my background checks had been started yet and that's when she said I will transfer you to someone that can answer that, hence waiting on the call back now.  Not expecting a real answer based on what I've been reading, but wanted to make sure I did like a "poke" or "nudge" that hey yes we are still out here waiting.  That's my goal, hoping for the best.  I will keep you posted!

Very true, we remind each other of the end game, us together!  Thank you for the reminders though!  So glad I found this site, it has helped us a lot especially with the stress and unknowns.  Thanks to all on here!

Just started  a scan for today lets see takes about a hour to run complete scan. I did see 1 RFE today at the start.

Just got my phone call back from USCIS and I asked him 2 questions:  1. Because I put a credit freeze on my credit due to Equifax ordeal will that affect my background check (I already knew it wouldn't but wanted to ask to make the time count) and he said no as I already knew. 2. Asked if anyone was working on my package yet please?  And he said I don't know but let me check.  He came back about 4 min later and stated my package was still in the "Q" to be assigned, give it another 2 months.  I said another 2 months and he said yes, if you don't hear from us by then call back.  I said ok thank you.

So I'm hoping maybe it was just a "poke" or "nudge" as I stated earlier that hey yes we are still out here waiting, I don't know.  I'm holding out hope it will not be 2 months, based on what Shoegum has been providing in his reports and everyone else's packages.  There is no way they are still on March as USCIS states.  So I think that was a generic answer to keep people at bay. 

Stay strong and positive, that's what I tell my fiancé, doesn't always work, but we know the end prize....us.

Also, the number I called was 1-800-375-5283, I think Option 3, even though I don't have an issue with my case, it was the only option to speak to someone.

Hopefully they operate like they do where I work at the Department of Veterans Affairs.  Different departments processing different claims so like an influx of compensation claims wouldn't effect the pension claims and vice versa...hope we all didn't get swamped with dreamers.
