Hey! He used a Money Order. They didn't keep our photos. I am kind of confused cause we haven't received noa1 :(

Have him call the provider of the money order to see if they accepted the payment. I would think if they didn't accept the petition they would've returned that with the photo album.

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

Don't be worried. My case isn't in the scan either. Check the USCIS tracker for your case for real time results. The scan may have not pulled all the cases. My case is still showing received and accepted on the USCIS tracker app.

Awesome!!!! If he filled out the text/email notification, then he should be receiving notification that way. But you should be getting your NOA1 soon.

Hi! I'm from Dominican Republic and my fiance sent the petition on May 26, They received it on May 30 and we received our photo album back yesterday with a letter saying  "WE ARE RETURNING AN ITEM YOU SENT IN SUPPORT OF YOUR APPLICATION/PETITION, AS IT IS A FORMAT WE CANNOT PLACE IN YOUR FILE FOLDER FOR REVIEW BY AN OFFICER DURING THE ADJUDICATION PROCESS" and no NOA1. What you guys know about this?

Im from DR too!! I just started following your timeline!! Good Luck!

they do not accept photo albums.. the instructions were very clear about this.

If you didn't submit any other photo evidence i would send some photos on the correct format with a cover letter explaining why you are sending this.

Live, love, laugh.. and try not to think too much about USCIS

My dad was born in DR, in the capital matter of fact. I still have family over there. He actually immigrated here when he was 10 years old when my abuelita sent for him and his siblings after she came over first to get herself situated. In fact, my mom was pregnant with me when she sat and watched him get sworn in with other immigrants at his U.S. Citizenship Oath Ceremony (I guess you can say I was there too supporting him from the womb). :jest:

It's just crazy sometimes when I think about how now my fiancé and I will kinda following in the same footsteps; just that things back then were wayyyyyyyy easier than they are now.

Processing times for CSC seems a bit inaccurate imho https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do;jsessionid=abcaePuyCoxhVerffldYv, says they are processing K1's from 12/2016?!?

They always give a 6 month timeline for NOA2. If your case was filed after 12/15/16 and you have not received NOA2 your are considered to be within 'normal' processing times. For the most part, the average time to NOA2 is considerably less (3-4 months these days), however there are still a small number of filers from December waiting for NOA2. If your case is outside of the timeline given by the CSC (for example, cases filed in November 2016), you are eligible to submit an inquiry online to check on the status of your case. Others have tried calling the CSC but it often leads to nothing productive, as they can only tell you if your case has been touched or not touched. The processing times on the site you linked to are updated around the 15th of each month, so within the next week or 2 the processing times will likely change to around January 15, 2017.

As said before, most are not waiting the full 6 months for NOA2, rather 6 months is the timeline that the CSC sets as a soft deadline for them to process cases. Through this forum we can tell that they are currently focusing on January/February cases, however there are some December and even a very small number of November cases still untouched.

Things are more difficult because some people use this petition and don't get married. Hopefully we're going to be done with this soon. 🙏
