Hi Y'all,

I filled for my fiancé back on May 1st and received the receipt confirmation letter and text soon after. The check was cashed and now a have been anxiously checking up on our status. Our case was forwarded to the California Center but on their website it states that they are barely on March fillers. Could this be true? So does this mean we won't get a response until even longer than expected? He has lost all hope but for me hope is the only thing I am holding on to. We recently had our first child and he has not yet been able to meet her, she's literally one week old. So now, the waiting time is even more anxious due to the fact that we were hoping to be together during the holidays. If anyone can let me know if they've filled around the same time and has heard something back I would truly appreciate it.

Ps. So glad I was able to find someone else that has filled in May and are just as anxious as I am.

Hi,

I would talk with an attorney but I believe you may have to refile because of the baby born before visa was fully approved and not born in your country traveling to.  That may be old news or false but I'd check now before more time passes.

Those processing times you're talking about of March 1st were what was reported as of July 31st, (and I've been told that they report on the oldest case they're touching at the time of the report, but who can be sure about that?) they never update to the current date on those :) It very much looks like they're going to be starting on May petitions this week (I'm a June filer, so I'm sure hoping they start on y'all this week! XD) but in all seriousness there have already been a few May NOA2s, and they're processing end of April/beginning of May it looks like, according to Igor's list :) I hope you get your NOA2 very soon so he can see his baby girl, and the woman he loves, ASAP!

I was feeling excited until I checked our timeline and saw our expected date was moved from Sept 28-Oct 4 to October 17-21 now. Trying not to get discouraged. I’m heading back to Addis for a visit the end of October, so I’m just crossing fingers that I’ll have good news to take my fiancé.

I see your timeline shows your NOA1 one day before mine.  It's very discouraging that the timeline has changed by almost a month, that makes me worry we won't be together this year as we had hoped.

I was being a pessimist when we filed and mentally preparing myself to wait until January or February, but then I started to get my hopes up bc it seemed like things were going faster than expected. I guess I’ll go back to pessimism and hope I can be pleasantly surprised.

Hahaha.  I had looked at all the locations for filing ahead of time and counted on California being 3.5 months originally till I saw all visas for K1 we're routed there and saw timeline grow.  I need to make sure I have my stuff together for when it's approved so I can hopefully get over there early December if all goes well (fingers crossed).

They are at about 50% for April right now and have processed a few from the very start of May. You might get lucky and get it this week, it might be a bit longer. Averages are pushing out around 150 days lately, some of us are all the way out at 170 now.
