And Flights for all of them the expenses add up quickly !!!!

The filing costs for 3, the visa costs for 3, the medical costs for 3, the CFO costs for 3, the NBI costs for 3, the flight costs for 3, the AOS costs for 3 the GC costs for 3...yes, very expensive and worth every dime...

It would be great to see all the costs laid out in an easy to understand format.  I'm guessing that would stop some people from even filing!

Yeah it is a hour ride to ililo then 1hr 45 plane to manila for mine

That is one of the blessings we have.  My future asawa lives in Metro Manila.  The 6 miles she needs to go to get to the embassy can take as long as your future asawa's flight!!!  Traffic in Manilla is crazy!

I knew a guy who did the exact same thing. His Filipina wife said the truck cab was bigger than some rooms back home.

Give her a map of USA and she can track down all the :jest: Jollibee's (#1 Filipinio Eatery for those who are not familiar)

Nah.  I know you are smart enough to know all this!!!

We have many threads here that talk about everything the beneficiary has to go through...leaving their homes, leaving their families, moving up to half way around the world...yes, it is a huge commitment.

The petitioners also are making a huge commitment that sometimes gets lost here.  It isn't just financial.  There are many changes required by both parties!  I have lived alone for 7 years in a very nice one bedroom apartment...I have a feeling that won't work with 4 of us!!!!

None of us should go into this blind.  Being 56 and looking to buy a house and support two more kids through college is not something I ever imagined.  I was looking for a rich woman to take care of me!!!!  LOL

There is a Jolibee's in the Chicago area.  If Murph4865 ever happens by, I would be proud to buy him and his new wife a burger or some chicken!

After spending a week at my Rose's house, I agree.  I have seen trucks with bigger living and sleeping space than her house!!!  LOL  That being said, I would never change a thing (except add a hot water heater!!!).  I love it in her place and look forward to spending a lot of time there in my retirement.

They have an office right across from the Embassy in the Philippines.  They also have services for AOS/EAD and GC.  I haven't decided if I will use them all the way through yet.

This entire process is easy for you to do. First, you have access to all the people here that have gone before you. Second you have guides here on VJ. Third you're a bright person. If I had to choose I would go with door number 3. Easy.

Just the Philippines alone they will process 330,000 visas in 2017. That's all classes of visas.  I think they are working. ;)

I agree.  While I do appreciate their guidance in getting my petition together, I believe that I can do the rest myself with the support here.

Hey, I need to know if someone from Dominican Republic has filled in the DS160 form???

I have a question....

They ask about vaccination required to enter the united states...

What kind of proof you think they refer?

Regarding the DS-160 there is a part where they ask you if you have had all the required vaccinations.

You will just answer YES in this spot even if you have not had them yet as by the time the interview is held you will have had all your vaccines during the required medical exam.

If you have any vaccine records of any kind from the past you can bring those to the medical and present them however you will more than likely still need some vaccines.

Good luck there.

When you fill out the police certificate, it says you need an endorser. I am not sure what it is either, it's why I'm asking. Hoping someone else can tell me.

Hi! I've gone through this process and got my ACRO police Certificate already. If you have any questions, just let me know. For the endorser part, anyone who know what that fall on the categories above, even not a British citizen who lives in the UK, will be your endorser. Your fiancé and family won't count though. 🙂

I plan to be with my fiance for Medical, CFO, and interview.  I only have 8.5 days vacation and assume 3.5 weeks for this all.  I told my company I need unpaid time off and they approved it because they understood.  Just hope it's this year or I'll end up using all my vacation too early next year! 😢 This process needs to be sped up by them.  At $535 a person they can hire more people to handle the load.  Just venting there at end, lol.  But yeah, I've heard stories where consulate can ask if fiance is there and can bring them in to interview too at their discretion and it does help show you're supporting your fiance through it.    Id say be there for it if all possible!  Good luck!!!

Having the opportunity to stand in the US Embassy in Manila was a real treat for me. I was able to be with my wife each step of the way. Once she arrived in front of the US CO then I was recognized by the CO politely and then was asked if I could have a seat in the waiting area while he conducted the interview. I have heard that some CO's let stand with her and others ask you have a seat. I had no problem taking a seat. I wasn't that far away that I could see them and it was a beautiful interview. I was so proud of my wife and step kids. While sitting I was close to another CO who was interviewing a sister who trying to pass off the boy who was with her as her own. CO uncovered that faux pas in a matter of minutes. DECLINED!!

So by all means, be at the interview as you will see how our country fets immigration. That place was jammed with people trying to get visas. The whole process runs very smoothly. Sometimes there are so many that I think to myself if everyone is leaving the PI who is going to be the last one that turns off the lights. :jest:

Just my take... I think that you misunderstood @LabOz completely; I read it as a suggestion for Visa Journey to be more aligned with how USCIS actually processes applications.  We're all stressed out here... it might be helpful if you could lose the attitude that has come through in your post as it serves no purpose in this forum.  Thanks for your understanding and good luck on your journey.  :)

I don't misunderstand. I stated exactly that I am awaiting May to begin processing.  Laboz feels the need to explain to me what and who fits where. Super for him. I see things a different way. As for Attitude. I can and will be me and if no one likes that? there is a nice ignore/block option that anyone can feel free to use.
