Hello all,

I am a US citizen and I live in Brazil for 10 years. I am considering moving back to the US and I started looking up for the immigration process for my fiancee.

I have found that the best solution is to fill I-129F then apply for the K1, correct?

There seems to be a problem, though, with my current address, since we both want to go together, I do not have a mailling address in the US neither we have an address in the US where my Beneficiary intend to live. Could anyone help me with this?

Is it possible to apply for her visa before I get back to the US, meaning, while I still live abroad?

If not, I guess the solution will be that I move before she does.

Thanks everyone!

You can use your address in Brazil as your physical address, then perhaps a family member state side as the mailing address?

You need ot be able to receive a few items in the mail during the process.

Also filing fee for the I-129f has to be drawn from a US bank account or on a US money order. Just another piece of info to remember.

My fiance and I started K1 process in Canada this January. Although he is an American citizen (by birth), he lived in Canada his entire life. He does have some families there in the US, but we didn't want to bother them. So we just used our Canadian address as our primary and mailing address - we were living together. To make the move easier financially, we decided that it'd be better if he moved to LA first by himself in Feb. He started looking for a job while I still had my steady and good income in Canada.

You can certainly use a reliable foreign address, but be aware that it'll add extra time just for letters to arrive. It took us a couple of weeks to receive our NOA1.

And like @Ben&Zian mentioned, you do need to have a US account in order to pay the filing fees with US checks. We have cross-border accounts here between US and Canada, so that wasn't an issue for us.
