Mel has a 4 year old son he has 50/50 custody with. It wouldn't be an option for him to pick up and move to Canada.

Being denied is too scary to think about!

That's an easy choice. I will be with Annie, I promised to marry her, and to be her husband, and that was not based upon whether we could live together in the USA, that is based upon the fact that she is my partner, my friend, my love, and more than I ever dreamed possible.

Finding good work would be challenging, but we'd find a way.

If it's going to be, it's up to me!

LoveLine (aka Timeline)

January 2005 - Met Annie online

I did it for a second time with success. but if failed Would have eventually broke it off because I can't move to HK or Philippines too soon, takes time to burn the bridges.

Also we would be living like peasents since over there I won't be legally able to work.

If anybody did not answer move to SO's country they should re-evaluate what they are doing.

I disagree. Everyone on VJ is (let's hope) in love and romanticizing everything. I think a lot of people who come to the US even say beforehand that it doesn't matter where their USC spouse lives, as long as they're with that person. And then they get depressed when they realize they have to live in Crappy Town X, USA. You can't build your whole life on the fact that you love someone, IMO. Location DOES matter, and if it mattered to the point where someone was willing to end a relationship, I wouldn't blame them,

Building a future requires dedication to the future, not on the present. It requires determination, perseverance, and patience to bring up a family. Some may become depressed, and some may not. My wife is strong since she was raised strong. She's been in worse places as well as myself. We both lived through poverty. She lives with no parents, and became a slave worker to a restaurant owner. I, collected cans with my father to supplement our income of about $600/month while living in the US the first time. It was horrible for the both of us. We live very strong. So, we both can manage in a under developed country as well as a very highly develop country. We both are very strong together.

Those who don't have the will to carry on, and give up on situation cannot quite carry the weight of loosing everything. They were given things when they were little, and cannot accept the fact they'll loose everything. They have never been through having nothing, and so they have no experience. Therefore, they have a lesser will to carry a future that may seem hopeless to them. If they persevere, determined, and patient they will become very successful bringing up the family.

Well we are planning for me to move to the UK first anyway then later when we are ready to move back, file for a CR1 so if that got denied we could either remain in the UK or move to another country together. Since by then I will have British citizenship our playing ground will be more level. We've talked about it before and even had a short list of where we could go.

We intend on both having dual citizenship US/UK.

Life long Texan, living in Hull, UK. How did this happen?

11 January - We met online and became friends

4 February - Became a couple

17 March - I went to Hull to meet the guy

20 March - First "I love you"

25 March - I go home :(

16 November - He comes to visit me in Texas

25 November - he leaves back home :(

14 December - ENGAGED! <3

1 March- I fly off to see my babe in Hull

4 April - I go home :(

9 October - He comes back to Texas!!!!

13 October - WEDDING!!!

22 October - He goes back to England and I continue to wait for my settlement visa.

13 December 2007 - Move to England

Now the wait begins, I will become a citizen then we will DFC back to the US.

Stacey I'm in the same boat as you. My husband also has a son from a previous marriage. there's no way he'd move up here if our application gets denied. Not something I wish to think about. Seeing that we've been doing this for so long.

Married August 21 2004 in Nova Scotia!

October 19/04 sent I-130.

April 17/08 finally arrive back in New Orleans after 3 years and 8 months.

May 19/08 Perm Resident Card arrives.

July 24/08 Reapply for a new SS card with married name.

August 4/08 Baby daughter born.

I would go back to Germany to regroup and then we would put in an application for a Canadian skilled worker visa and move to either Sweden, Denmark, or Iceland while we wait.

Neither one of us are too interested in remaining in Germany at the moment. Maybe later.

If anybody did not answer move to SO's country they should re-evaluate what they are doing.

And why is that? If the SO is from EU, and both consider that particular country of EU to be boring and depressive and not worth it, what is wrong with choosing another country to live for as an alternative? Living in another EU country that you once were from is becoming more and more popular (e.g. compared to 10 or 20 years ago), and should soon be no bigger deal than if someone from Iowa, North Carolina, or Utah moves to New York to live there. Why would they be forced to stay somewhere where it's too boring to live?

i have no point? lol? you actually defined the poll as being static when you stated no prospect of any subsequent ones being approved. one would have options, but refiling in the context you gave is pointless (which was my point :innocent: )

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/prospect

pros·pect

–noun

1.Usually, prospects. a.an apparent probability of advancement, success, profit, etc. b.the outlook for the future: good business prospects. 2.anticipation; expectation; a looking forward. 3.something in view as a source of profit. 4.a potential or likely customer, client, etc. 5.a potential or likely candidate. 6.a view, esp. of scenery; scene. 7.outlook or view over a region or in a particular direction. 8.a mental view or survey, as of a subject or situation. 9.Mining. a.an apparent indication of ore or native metal. b.a place giving such indications. c.a mine working or excavation undertaken in a search for additional ore. 10.Archaic. sight; range of vision.

You have no point...

Prospect does not equate to "possibility"

The only head banging going on Mel and Daniel, it would seem, is holding this conversation with a member that flames posts all so often. I cannot believe that this member is an organizer .. what was Captain Ewok thinking? Some posters (and organizers it would seem) make members afraid to post .. this member is one of them .. don't let this discourage you. I participated in your poll and fully understood the entirety of it.
