Expired Passport & Expired Green Card, going through citizenship application process but need to travel domestically

My passport and my green card have both expired. I'm currently in the process of applying for my citizenship and I have a date set for my interview and test. I have some domestic work related travel I will need to do about a week after my interview, however I'm not sure if this will be possible without any valid photo ID. Is anyone aware of a process to expedite the oath ceremony once I pass the interview/test appointment? I have already confirmed the office that services my area does not offer same day naturalization ceremonies. My big question really is what can I do or what information can I provide to get a valid photo ID so I can board my flights?

Do you have a driver's license? If so, you can travel domestically with that.

A US driving license is acceptable for domestic air travel.

Do you not have one? If not, then investigate perhaps getting one. If you don't drive, then maybe a non-drivers ID for your state would be useful

I do not currently posses a drivers license. I have looked into getting one, however I need a valid photo ID to be issued a drivers license.

Looksl like traveling is an issue after your naturalization test but what do you plan to do for your naturalization interview?  You are required to present a state-issued form of identification at the naturalization interview too.

I see on the CA site here that they also list such things as:

• Valid I-94 stamped "Refugee," "Parole or Parolee," "Asylee," or Section 207, Section 208, Section 209, Section 212d(2), HP or PIP
• Valid I-94 with attached photo stamped "Processed for I-551 temporary evidence of lawful admission for permanent residence"
• Notice of Action (I-797 Approved Petition) - must indicate approved extension of stay or change in status that grants temporary or permanent residency, or indicates that an original, duplicate or renewal Resident Alien card is forthcoming.

Get to an infopass appointment or try a walk in, take a couple of passport photos, and try to get them to issue you a document. From rusty memory they can do so, and combined with your expired card perhaps would suffice.

 

Also, I would be looking into whether your home country issues quick, or perhaps, emergency, passports, or at the very least an emergency travel document (which would have your photo). You may have to be economical with the truth in order to get one of these of course....

Is your extension letter still valid? If not, you can make an appointment at USCIS to get an i-551 stamp. (They can stamp a new paper - not your passport- as long as you come with 2 passport style photos.) Then you should be able to use that to get a driver's license/state ID. Explain to USCIS why you need it... they may not want to give you a stamp so close to your interview, but if you can't get ID without it, maybe they will.

I don't want to be too judgey... but how did you let yourself be in a position of not having any valid ID?
