So as the title suggests, I had my interview today and I am incredibly thankful it was accepted! Most experiences do not differ a great deal from mine. Wait for your number to be called check you have certain paperwork, went to the pay the fee, came back to the same window waited for my number to be called again for my interview.

If anyone has read any of my previous posts I stupidly mailed all of my i-864 forms and supporting documents to the embassy. Despite this they had the complete file there anyway, I bought along all the correct paperwork as I assumed they would not have it. So essentially had double everything.

The hard work in this process was certainly all the form filing and gathering evidence required. The advantage that DCF filers have is that you will take the i-864 etc with you to the interview, so any discrepancies can be discussed face to face rather than having an RFE this is my understanding anyway. Interview itself was incredibly informal, nothing to sweat over.

Feel free to ask any questions, I would have been lost without this forum!

Thanks to everyone who helped and pointed me in the right direction when I needed it!

Aww congratulations!!!

I've got mine at the end of may and panicking sooo much!! Did they ask for your 2016 tax returns? Did you have them? Or just show your W2?

Congrats again!!

All I showed was the 2015 tax returns, I am not sure if they can file for 2016 yet I don't think it was possible for me at least. No I did not have the w2  which she asked for when she realised both incomes on one tax return although she seemed happy just with the i-864a (if that makes sense) If you can get them as well as the actual tax returns I would suggest too! GOOD LUCK!
