Did officer ask any questions or just let you in? What about airlines, accepted extension letter without questions? Thanks in advance for the answer.

Do you have Global Entry?

When I was traveling outside the U.S I flew with american airlines.. the lady at baggage check in had to verify my extension letter before she was able to print out my ticket. I had to explain to her what it was and how it works with my my expired gc.i eventually got my boarding pass.. traveling back to the u.s, my connecting flight stopped at London.  I was asked if my final destination was the u.s.. and that was about it.. everything went smooth. I was directed to the "visitor" line when I got to jfk airport.. immigration office asked me how long I had spent outt of the country.. took a picture and fingerprints..and gave me back my passport.

We received our extension letter about 1.5 weeks after sending in the application.   It came so fast!!

I know its not technically the green card but can my wife travel back and forth to mexico without fear of going too frequently?  We usually go there for dinner or a show since we live so close.

Thanks

It shouldn't present any problem. She will have to bring with her, her valid passport, her expired GC, the Form I-797 (NOA1) Receipt/Extension letter, and a copy of her marriage certificate (if her last name is different on her GC and passport).

Those are the documents my wife took with her when we had started the ROC process and traveled a couple of times to Vancouver, BC, Canada. We had no problems either going to Canada, or back to the US.

I would suggest that you make several copies of the Form I-797. We kept the original copy in a plastic page presentation sleeve.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Hello friends,

i applied for removal of conditions on my GC in April and received NOA, since then nothing happened. I need to travel to Mexico City in Nov but as I see from below link Mexico authorities won’t accept expired GC and NOA extension combo for entry into the country. What can be my best options?? This trip is important for me and I don’t want to miss it.

seems like as a LPR , we cannot even apply for MX visitors visa.  Please assist. Thank you.

US Residents: If your United States visa stamped on your passport already expired but you have an official document proving your legal status in USA, you mustapply for a Mexican visa (I-797 A Forms, Advance Parole Forms, I-20 OR DS-2019 Forms won’t be accepted to entering Mexico), unless you have a valid Visa for any of the countries listed above (Canada, Japan, United Kingdom or Schengen area).

Thanks for the update! Did you use the lane for the residents or for visitors?

No secondary inspection?

Does anyone travel with stamp in passport?i heard they take you to the room when u arrive ..

I have traveled with stamp. I was never taken to a room. Going to secondary can happen to anyone really. It isn't a mandatory requirement just because you have the stamp.

Hello. My father was diagnosed with cancer. I applied in early august 2018. I want to go asap even tho my gc should be approved any day.. can i get into problems? My letter expires in February but id come back before that, early January.

Is it a problem if i get approved while outside of country, or get interview/RFE letter?

Did you try to apply for the expedited service based on the humanitarian reason?
