Hi! Will you share your experience please? I’ll be flying this weekend. Married name on Expired green card +extension letter and maiden name on passport/ticket. Just wondering who will question it airline or TSA? Sorry it’s going to be my first time our the US and really nervous especially reading some horror stories about it lol

If you're flying out of the US, at the very least you need a document that connects the married and maiden names, such as a legal name change decree or a marriage certificate. The airline, CBP, or the other country's Immigration may ask to see.

Sure!

My name in my passport is my maiden name, and my name on my greencard (the 2 year conditional) is my married name. I have traveled in and out of the US about 5 times, and never had any issue. When coming back to the US, I went to the "US citizens/Permanent Residents" line in the passport control area of the airport, and when it is my turn, the officer asks for my documents, I give both the passport and the Greencard, he barely looks at them, asks like 'how long have you been gone? what were you doing there?' and that's it. I always carry my marriage certificate in my carry on in case they would ask to see proof that those documents are mine.. but I never had to use it.

I think you should not worry, because you did everything under the law: you have your greencard, you applied for removal of conditions, and have your extension letter. You shouldn't worry. If anyone doubts anything, you just explain why the documents don't match, and they will look it up and let you go. Don't worry!

Just ordered tickets for July with Norwegian Air. I'm a little nervous about traveling with the GC extension letter. However, the airline has many US destinations, so they should be familiar with the letter (hopefully).

Anyone who has a name mismatch should also carry a marriage certificate or document which connects the name change as @WeGuyGal stated above.  I wouldn't rely on the airlines "looking it up".

Experience Flying from Paris into Atlanta via Delta Airlines  with Extension Letter and GC.

Hi guys just wanted to share my experience with CBP at Atlanta's Airport. I show the officers my 18 month extension letter, my two day old expired GC and my passport. He runs my information, makes me take picture and then makes me do fingerprints, he was having a hard time getting my fingerprints, then he asks for my boarding pass from Paris to Atlanta, runs more information through the computer and he says something to the effect 'its not letting him run through some of my information' and then he says "i see you have record, why were you arrested for' I tell him that it was a DWI back from 2006-he then does more stuff on the computer, grabs a see through folder, puts my documents in there and has someone walk me to secondary inspection. By this point I am already a nervous wreck.  They put me in a waiting area, while my folder is handed over to another CBP officer who sits at a counter. I am texting my husband and telling him to re-book our connection flight to Dallas because we might not make it on time or i don't know whats going to happen to me and i am panic mode. They call my name t counter, ask me how long i was in Spain for, and for what reason, and i state for vacation, 5 days only, they ask me if i have family over there, i say no, then they ask if i have anything to declare, alcohol, etc. I say no. They stamp my passport and hand my documents back to me. And that was it, was able to leave waiting area and get to my connection flight to Dallas. I must say I was left terrified and uneasy. I feel like the first CBP officer since he was having problems with my fingerprints and something on his end on the computer he didn't want to handle me as there was a long line of people trying to check in. I'm also not sure why he brought up when I was arrested. Not sure if I want to venture out of the country again while conditions are being removed. Thoughts anyone???

You do not need a stamp in your passport if you have an 18 month extension letter.  The NOA letter extends the expiration date printed on the plastic green card.  Present the expired green card along with the extension letter.
