Hello! My name is Anna. I applied for naturalization at the end of December 2015, had my interview in may 2016. Was approved the next day, and since then I am waiting for oath ceremony, which is almost a year. Last summer I did case status request, and got email, that I am in line with Georgia court system, since I want to change my name, it is supposed to be judicial ceremony. A few months after that, I scheduled infopass appointment in Atlanta (I am from Alabama) and was told that my case is waiting for Alabama court system to schedule my oath ceremony. After I mentioned that I have email, stating the same but in Georgia, the officer told me "no! I am right, you live in Alabama and waiting for Alabama court system to respond and schedule your ceremony". They told me my case was not lost or something and that wait is because I want to change my name. It's been almost a year and a half since I filed n400. I scheduled another infopass for this  Friday and hoping to ask them if I can leave my name and have administrative ceremony so I can finally get my citizenship. What are your thoughts? What else can ask? Who is manager or someone in charge overthere? How can I know I am speaking with higher level or something officer? Thank you!

I think you should get congressional assistance involved here. They are usually quick getting an answer, your case seem trivial to resolve. Check with either one of your Senators or House Rep, they usually have information on case assistance available on their websites. I think they are right though, it should be the AL district court approving your name change. Who knows why it takes so long to schedule one, I can't imagine you are the only applicant from AL requesting a name change. Maybe you could also contact the district court and try to learn what is going on. Who knows maybe they do these judicial ceremonies once a year in your district. I found info for the middle district of Alabama, apparently they do 4 ceremonies per year. http://www.almd.uscourts.gov/about/naturalization You should check with yours too.

Thank you for your response! A few friends of mine and one relative applied after me, had theirs interviews and already received their citizenships during this year. All of them were changing names. It looks like it's me who got so lucky and stuck here:(  I will definitely contact senator or representative. Thank you!
