Is bottled water really better than tap?

i drink tap water from the refrig..it has some type of filter,,..not into bottled water..sanita never drinks straight water.....

Tap water where I am is fine. I think bottled water is a waste of money...

I use a Brita filter because the water tastes weird here otherwise, though I'm not sure whether it's because the water is bad, or because I'm used to the water from my hometown (where I can drink it from the tap.)

Since I drank the tap water in Korea and in the Middle East (probably not the best places to drink anything...) I figure water here in the good ol' U.S. of A. should be just fine.

I get yelled at every time I do though. My wife will not touch this "dirty water". When she first arrived, we were buying "drinking water" from Kroger, and only after I showed her that it said "bottled at a municipal source" and drove her by the Kroger plant (it's here in Cincinnati as well) did she stop wanting "drinking water."

Now I have to buy the more expensive "spring water" or "purified water." If she HAS to drink the "dirty water" it must pass through our Brita pitcher, then get boiled in the tea kettle. And if that's all we have.... she'll drink it. But only with her tea!

I have a water testing machine which tests the parts per million in the water. The cleanest water I've ever found was in those reverse osmosis machines you see at the grocery stores (regestering about a 10-15 when testing). My home filtration system is the top of the line, yet still doesn't produce water that pure. Usually about a 40-50.

I won't say what brand, but I tested it and it was literally off the charts (over 200)...so much so, my machine couldn't even calibrate it!

We drink filtered water but it really messes around with the pH. We get spring water straight out of the hills in summer. Wonderful clean stuff with the best pH I've ever seen in water.

recently we have been buying our water at a astores filterd water station. not sure what filtration system they use. i will have to check out their claims next time we are in that store.

At home I drink the filtered water that comes through our refrigerator. There is no filter at work, but the office provides bottled water so that's what I drink. Either one is fine with me, but I try not to pay for water myself. If someone else is buying . . . . . .

I like bottled water because it lets me keep track of how much I drink. My

personal daily goal is one gallon - I open a new gallon bottle in the morning

and try to finish it by the end of the day. B)
