After raising two SRs (one online and another by phone about 8 days later), we got a response that said:

"The status of this service request is: Your case is currently under review.  You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly."

The next day, we got a case status update that said:

"Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production"

So don't give up hope!

I just filed another service request as well. It's only been a week but I don't care. We need this!

We had the same response. My husband got a job offer, we are at day 113 of waiting for EAD, tried to put in a SR and were told the jbo offer didn't matter. I don't really understand why the wait time is so long at this point. Surely they must understand that in 4 months of living here and not being able to work or drive, people start to get impatient..

Not sure in which state you live and what are the requirements for drivers license but here in Texas and in other states a person who is adjusting status can apply for drivers license, they will check on the save system and you will receive a letter which you take back to license office. I applied the same day I had Biometrics appointment and I had my drivers license in hand for quiet a while now.

Which city in Texas are you? I am in waco tried applying for DL in gatesville, Temple and Waco since I read you could on the website... they all rejected me saying I have to have an approval notice not a regular NOA1. Now I have an EAD card and they say I can apply. But honestly I have no faith in this system anymore

We live in North Carolina - they refuse to issue a drivers license without I-94, EAD or GC. So we have to wait...

Houston, you have to go prepared, check this link https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/documents/verifyingLawfulPresence.pdf is from DPS and shows who is allowed to apply based on lawful status. On the 3rd page shows that people who are applying for adjustment of status and have a pending application CAN apply for drivers license showing the form 797C and they can check on the SAVE system using your passport number or Alien number provided on on letter 797C. You have to print and take the document you see in the link because they don't know. At first they told me no and once I show them that printed document they said ok take a number. Look at this screenshot from page 3.

And don't lose faith in the system, this happens because DPS do not fully train their representatives, it is allowed by their regulations. Remember something when a person apply for adjustment of status, from the PD Priority Day it has full lawfull status.

Oh trust me I have took it with me cause I know them too well. They even showed me a document of their own saying This doesn't grant me any immigration status and I need an approval notice. As I said, I have no faith in this system. I even went for a new SSC with my EAD and told me I have to wait 5 weeks ..

be careful with the storm! God bless u

I'd say just give it a few more days to a week and see if you get that response to your SR.  You can check the SR to see if it's been assigned or responded to/completed at the bottom of your case status webpage, seems to work best if you created an account on myuscis at https://egos.uscis.com - creating an account seemed to do a little more than just typing in the case number, but only gave me updates on my SR, and it also let me track all 3 of our cases just by signing in once I set it up

Good news, I woke up today to a notification that a new card is being produced! After 109 days, so happy!

Here in California you need at least the EAD to get a license unfortunately :( I've been using buses but unlike back home, they're super inconvenient. I can't wait to get a car although driving here terrifies me

Sorry that you are having so much trouble, come to Houston and do it here. It says pending not approved, an approved adjustment of status application will grant you a green card, why would you apply as an adjustment of status applicant if you can apply as resident? The moment you go to the interview and they approve it and they sent you a letter of approval it will contain the green card inside. You have to tell them that you need them to verify your status on the SAVE system, it is your right, you also have to tell them that you have full legal status and you need them to verify it with your passport number or alien number. Ask for a supervisor. Be carefull this weekend too!

In California undocumented can get a license, it's state law.

North Carolina might have different regulations but I will advise you to go to the drivers license website in your state and read carefully what are the requeriments because staff are normally not well trained and it's easier for them to say no if they don't know.

Yeah It's on the website that an I-797 is sufficient, but no matter what we did when we got to the office, they wouldn't accept it. *eyeroll*. The entire thing is super uncoordinated.

In Maryland I went but they told me because my I-94 had expired I needed to have my EAD (at least) before they would give me my license. So I'm waiting on that (day 93 today, still just 'case received' status)

Yep, same - and we're at day 114. They saw that the I-94 was expired and want an EAD then.

I noticed while checking online today that at the bottom of our aos case (current status Ready To Be Scheduled For Interview) where it says "next steps" ours says "we will issue our decision and mail it to you"  does anyone else's say that? I wonder if that's how you can tell if your interview is waived? You'd think it would say "We will issue your interview date and mail it to you " or something like that...
