Gn fellow filers I appy to the Social security Centre on Monday 21st August, more then 10 days after EAD card was received. I did a Save Case check search a few mins ago. Please see information below ....

Case Verification Number: 20*******RV
Case Status as of: 08/23/2017 8:00PM ET

Case Status

case-closed.png Case Returned to Agency

Description

SAVE has returned your case to Maryland - Social Security Administration, SSA (Single Signon).

What Do I Do Next?

Please contact  Maryland - Social Security Administration, SSA (Single Signon) to get more information about your case status.

Has anyone experience this msg while applying for their SSN/card?

I would assume that means your card is getting produced, since Maryland is where they're processed.

Exactly what it says I imagine. They are looking at your case and they will let you know if they think you're eligible to have your EAD expedited.

But the request status shows request is completed and that they have sent a response ...

Job offer, pregnant wife, and/or wife losing a job and cut the source of income.

Unless you had a job offer, or emergency situation, you shouldn't have requested to expedite because you won't be able to send supporting docs.

If we were depending on my limited savings and my spouse's income which is way below our actual expenses

Isnt it a severe financial loss to the individual ?

And I today only reseived an email saying "We received your request to expedite the decision on your application. Your case is currently under review. You will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly" wahat you think about that ?

You should receive the response in the mail...snail mail that is.

I have read where some people said they got their responses in their e-mails. So look out for both , the mail will probably take 4-5 days.

My SR was completed on a Friday and I got the response in the mail a week after which was Friday morning and later in the day I got an update that card was being produced.

Well from what I heard a job offer and emergency situation like death, losing job, or pregnancy are the main factors for approval. You could try that but still if you are above poverty line and your wife and yourself share finances based on your application, I doubt they would take it seriously.

it means they will Contact you for either evidence or a decision on your case. Usually 7-10 days for mail to deliver

Is this actually a thing? I was hoping that we'd still be on track for the EAD regardless of when the interview is.

You would still... it doesn't matter that you already have your interview scheduled except if that interview would be today or this week and that you got approved on the spot for your GC, then you wouldn't need the EAD which they won't longer approve that.

But hey Interview is still in a month and your EAD is over processing time so I doubt if they will halt your EAD card production because of that.

hopefully you'll get your EAD soon. Congratulations on your interview being scheduled and best of luck, and may I ask where your local office is?

Thanks for that! I've not gotten the letter yet, but I'm going to assume Detroit. We live in Michigan, but we are closer to Chicago than Detroit, so I'm not sure if there is a possibility of us going to Illinois or not.

Also. Is it normal to not be approved right away at the AOS interview? I'm now starting to really dig deep on information since I know it's coming up pretty quick now.

Last night - we received text and email confirmation that our case was updated and EAD / AP has been mailed, although AP case status never actually changed from case received, all I ever got about that was the approval NOA that came in the mail along with approval NOAs for EAD

We have very similar timelines and the updates we've both gotten since we started this AOS journey have always been nothing less than 24 hours apart, I knew when you got an update about your EAD being approved all I had to do was wait for 24hrs and lo and behold I got an update too.

Same thing when I saw this message yesterday, I was like let me go back to sleep I'm sure before I wake up I will get an update too...and I did :D

Congratulations...(F)

Oh yes...so many testimonies of on the-spot approval for GC on this forum that I have read a lot of....

Some 24-48 hours after, it all depends as all cases are different. While some have to wait longer than that... Try and read a lot of other people's experience and their outcomes and you'll get a lot of information... I wish you all the best and I hope you come back to give us the good news of being approved on the spot.

Sorry to say still no updates on either our AOS or EAD.  Husband called USCIS again today because it's been 15 days since we submitted the SR and still no status update, not even assigned for processing.  They said we shouldn't call again until it's been 30 days, by which I assume they mean we can submit another SR after 30 days.

Very hopeful to see some of you are getting interview dates, I hope we will soon as well!

Wonderful news!  Thank you for your lovely reply too.

Here's to hoping others still waiting like we did for so long get some resolution on their applications as well.

Did you ever hear back about AOS?  It's been like 120 days or so now and no word yet, but so glad EAD/AP will show up in the mail soon

Citizenship process complete!  First a J1 work/travel Visa visitor from Philippines to Texas where we met each other, then back to Philippines.  Ultimately, immigrated here via a K1 Marriage-based petition in 2016, AOS started in 2017, completed in 2018, ROC started/completed in 2020, N-400/Citzenship granted in 2022 - timeline link below:

If it's any consolation, my SR got assigned two days after the date I was told to expect to hear from them by. It sucks waiting, but one day you'll see it change to "has been assigned".
