hi everyone, congrats to those who got their cards already. as for me, and a lot others still, we're still waiting for any updates. I sent a SR last aug. 4 for my EAD (didn't apply for AP), got a response aug 16 that it has been assigned to an officer for review. 1 week later, still nothing. how long does it usually take to get approved after it has been assigned for review? thanks..

What Do I Do Next?

Please contact  Maryland - Social Security Administration, SSA (Single Signon) to get more information about your case status.

Has anyone experience this msg while applying for their SSN/card?

I didn't experience this but what I did was do it all in person. I live in Maryland but went to an office in DC as it was nearer to where my husband works and I travelled in with him that day. It was all processed while I waited and took about 45 minutes in total. All they asked me was why I had come to DC rather than doing it in Maryland. I arrived on a K1 visa and got my SSN before we even got married. They gave me a piece of paper saying I had been approved for SSN then I got my card in the mail about a week later.

OK filer on Monday 21st August I visited the Social Security Card Centre in Brooklyn to apply for my SS number/card. I filled out the application n then my number was called, the agent that dealt with me indicated that it will take 14 working days for me to get my number/card. On USCIS website there is a software that helps you track the progress of any public assistance or benefits you have applied for such as ur SSCard/number. This evening I signed into same n got the above msg. I just wanted to know if anyone has experience same n what was the outcome n hope long after did they received their card in the mail. Thank you...

i actually never did this. when i applied for my SSN, they just gave me a paper stating that my card will be mailed to me in 2-4 weeks. didn't know you can check it online, but i got my card in less than 2 weeks actually. i guess if they gave you a letter or told you that you will receive it by mail then you'll get it.

It's been 108 days for me and nothing so far :( I made a service request on August 10th, they were supposed to respond yesterday but nothing. So I made another one yesterday. I have a question - how do you talk to a human when you call the USCIS customer service line? I get stuck in there. I reach the point where the system asks me to type in my receipt number but I can't type letters and it doesn't accept it :( so I can't reach a human being at all. How do you do it?

The letters correspond to the numbers on your phone (each has two or three letters), MSC would be 672 for example.  My SR took roughly two or three days longer than the deadline they gave me when I submitted, hopefully you hear back tomorrow (that it's been assigned and/or processed), after ours' was processed, it took another week to get the response in the mail.  The same day we got the response, which just said it's being worked on, we also got a case status update via text and on the website that said new card in production, hopefully you have a similar experience :)

This better not be the case. A month is a long time for someone who is sitting around waiting for life to begin again.

Is this actually a thing? I was hoping that we'd still be on track for the EAD regardless of when the interview is.

G. M. friends,

Its been 107 days I requested an expedited service for my EAD based on severe financial loss and  I received an email saying "We received your request to expedite the decision on your application. Your case is currently under review. You will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly"

what dose it mean what should I expect.

I hope so too, I was just guessing so don't take my word for it :) I did make an app at the DMV in order to save some time, and I will reschedule depending on how things move along. Thank goodness I already have an SSN so getting back my driver's license is my priority (and getting a job of course!)

Exactly what it says I imagine. They are looking at your case and they will let you know if they think you're eligible to have your EAD expedited.
