I feel your pain, and welcome your venting, as it makes my frustration also feel justified!

I am so, so sick of sitting at home, not working.  If I had money to spend, I could be out enjoying myself or taking courses, but since I haven't worked in almost a year, and Arizona is too hot to be outside hiking right now, sitting at home is about all I can do.  I just want my EAD!!!

Also, my husband added me to his health insurance (marketplace) and they accepted my I-797 as proof of my immigrant status, and said I didn't need a SSN, just my alien number.  We discussed all this over the phone when he initially wanted to add me and later received written confirmation after I submitted the documents they asked for.  Well I should have kept that letter confirming acceptance of the documents I had provided.  Because we ended up having to reapply due to income changes and they made us resubmit all our documents.  Now they're saying I need a SSN or my insurance will be cancelled! It totally seems to depend on who you talk to.  And all the stress has made my immunity take a nosedive, so I'm getting infections and weird rashes left and right, which means doctors visits and prescriptions, which means if they try to cancel my insurance and backcharge me for the period I used it, I'll have a very hefty bill.

I have this fantasy that someone from USCIS will just randomly knock on our door one day, see our marriage is obviously real, and just approve my green card on the spot.  I know it doesn't work that way, but every time I hear a knock my heart leaps!

I know this isn't the right section, but since I brought it up in this thread I thought I should update here.  Regarding the health insurance, I resubmitted the exact same document (I-797) and yesterday got an email saying it had been accepted.  Likely, whoever looked at our file the second time, wasn't aware that a SSN wasn't needed.  Thankfully the third submission worked.

We are using Obamacare.

Any K1 to AOS/EAD filers from May hear anything back yet, non-expedite, and no RFE?

Still experiencing radio silence from USCIS since May 3 (outside of having done biometrics on June 1).  Recap of time line is:

AOS - NOA1 received date says may 10 (online and mail says it's at NBC, phone system says it's in Missouri - which I think is an NBC office), status still on "Fingerprint Fee Received"

EAD/AP - NOA1 received dates say may 3, status still says case received

Service Request for EAD submitted July 19 - automated email received instantly and it gave us an SR tracking number and said expect a reply by August 10 - as of today August 8, online system says it was received July 19 and has not yet been assigned for processing, called and they said to call back after August 19 if we still haven't heard and they would put in a new service request

blarrrrghhh - patience my friends 🙏

Citizenship process complete!  First a J1 work/travel Visa visitor from Philippines to Texas where we met each other, then back to Philippines.  Ultimately, immigrated here via a K1 Marriage-based petition in 2016, AOS started in 2017, completed in 2018, ROC started/completed in 2020, N-400/Citzenship granted in 2022 - timeline link below:

I'm at Day 85, filing day 15th May, I'm just waiting till day 91 which will be next Monday and then I'm going to call a tier 2 agent to find out why my EAD has gone over the 90 day mark. AOS interview I assume will still take some time.

Keep me updated if you receive anything and I'll do the same, hopefully we have a good outcome with something that will be approved soon whether it's EAD or AOS. What date did you file on and did you receive any RFE?
