So my EAD card was mailed to me today (August 1st), 4 days after status changed to card in production. Hopefully I can have it by Friday so that Monday morning I can apply for a SSN.

I hope it came through ok. I got my SSN straight away, in January after I landed. Obviously I didn't have my EAD (still waiting for it) and all I showed them was my NOA. They gave me a letter saying I had been 'approved' and the card came in the mail about 10 days later. Maybe it depends where you apply. The only question I got was "why have you come to this office when there's one closet to where you live?" I just explained I'd travelled in to DC with my fiancé as that's where he works and wanted to get it done. That was that.

It was was such a long time ago now I forget the specifics but I only waited about 30 mins in total and it was very easy. Have you already been refused one because of lack of EAD

All done... Interview went very smoothly... IO came out and called my name, he was not smiling but professional and polite, took us into his office and swore us in... then he went through our full names and date of births and address... then he went through the questions on my i-485... then he asked my wife where we had met and around what date... then he asked if it was both of our first marriage and we said yes, then he asked if either one of us had kids and we said no then he asked who are the kids in those photos and i was pleasantly surprised that he had actually personally looked through the pictures and i said those where her niece and nephew... then he asked if we had any extra evidence we want to submit and i gave him our wedding album and my sealed medical form... he said we did a background check and everything looks great that your marriage is bonafide and your green card is approved!!! he then went to get some copies of some of the pics from the wedding album (we had already submitted close to 38 pics with the application) and then he said you will get the card within two weeks and explained ROC and naturalization... then he asked us if we had any questions and we said no and he lead us out... hurraay!!! i hated that we were all tensed up as  the interview appointment letter had mentioned a long list of things to bring to the interview and we hadn't gotten an employment letter from her boss and didn't have the most recent pay stubs but he didn't even ask about them... so i guess this process is finally over for now... thanks to every single one of you who has read my posts and answered my questions and been a part of my journey, you guys made it easier for me... thank you...

P.S. I'm kind of worried that i haven't gotten an update on my status online yet, interview was at 1:30 PM and now its 12 30 in thew morning and no update yet... I am gonna post this same comment on the March, April and May 2017 topics as there are people on each who have supported me through this process...

Congratulations! That's fantastic. Good to know it was as straightforward as we all hope it will be :-)

I'm adjusting from B2. So I needed to wait for EAD.

Applied for SSN yesterday, was in and out in 10 minutes. Told me I should have it in less than 2 weeks. Checked the SAVE database yesterday night and my case was already 'returned to agency' so I peobably have a ssn generated already. Should have the card in a few days

Glad everyone is progressing! Seems like a lot of EAD's, some even without expediting now! Just seems like us may filers only have 1 interview though? Don't even see mentions of other interviews being scheduled yet. Not to worried about it, just helps us with lots of passport visa issues.

My understanding is that you won't get any RFEs once you've been scheduled for an interview.

Became a citizen 6/2024. Now filing for my mother.
